I emptied the container with the old ice and when I put it back nothing happed for 2 days. I check it often to see what's the problem and also washed and dried the container. The freezer is cold enough to freeze. Thank you in advance for your help. Ada Vazquez

If a year old there is no warranty for the ice maker or the dual water control valve. Feel around the ice slots to see if there is still sitting there? What is the model number of your fridge? If the ice tray slots are empty fill with tap water until near full and if the water freezes and the ice maker drops the ice into the ice container the problem will link to a water control valve problem. If there is ice in the slots and ice maker is on and does nothing then the problem is the ice maker and it will need to be replaced.
I can think of two possible problems. The ice has frozen together and will not allow the ice screw to push the ice out the dispenser. Or the motor for the ice screw is broken.
1. Shut off icemaker with lever at icemaker
2. Remove ice container (either throw away ice or save in another container).
3. Put back empty ice container.
4. Leave ice maker off for about an hour.
5. After an hour , check if motor is working by trying to dispense ice. You should not expect any ice but you should hear the motor /auger moving.
A) If you do not hear any thing , you need to get your motor replaced.
B) If you hear the motor , mostlikely you had an ice dam which prevented the ice dispense from working..You can turn you icemaker on.
Check to see if the little metal bar on top of the icemaker got flipped up or jammed when you put the ice container back in. This turns the ice machine off. This happed with my dad just the other day. I know it is simple, but he knew about this, and it still didn't dawn on him to check it. Just a thought!
try forcing the cycle by manually triggering the cycle a few times. Sometimes you can detach the trip arm or turn the tray by hand by disconnecting it from the gear. There may have been a switch bumped to turn it off or the switch somehow jammed. Maybe check for freeze-up. If there is water in it, it's going somewhere.
