Hello I've the repair manual to your Insignia set, but I can's send it to you by this window as it does not allow me to upload any files by it. If you are interested, just buy one among my services advertised in Fixya, and com over to me. OK.
Try power-cycling the unit (turn off and unplug) and ensure that you've reset it to factory defaults. Also ensure that the unit is dry by allowing it to rest powered on for 60 minutes. Additional steps include ensuring that the CD door is securely closed. More tips can be found in the owner's manual. If none of these steps resolve the problem, you may carry the unit in to the place of purchase for service options.
If you've also power-cycled the unit (turn it off and unplug it for several minutes) and the problem still persists, repairs will likely be required. Service can be obtained by carrying the unit in to the place of purchase.
Cant help with diagrams but have you tried "freeze". Its a spray that cools components to see if they are breaking down thermally which does sound a little like it could be possibly. The cold component then rights itself when sprayed for a little while till it get warms again.
I had the same problem, its an easy fix if you can solder, and costs less than five dollars in parts, The two filter caps in the audio power supply are not soldered very well so vibrations cause them to break loose from the board.
I have the same problem. I got it to reset by removing the internal battery and letting it sit for a day. Unfortunately, when I push the remote buttons too fast it locks up again. It is a pain to remove the cover and pull the battery. I don't understand why the unit takes so long to respond to the remote but in the case of my unit you have to be sure you don't push them too fast or it will lock up. I just sent a email to the company via the link provided here. I am not expecting them to respond but we will see.
i had the same problem.i took the remote to the store where i purchased the system, and it worked perfectly on a display model .i realised then that it was sitting under my television at home.i moved the unit to another location away from the tele and the remote worked correctly.give it a try."barsue"
