Re: replace a fuse R52WM24
You can temporarially. Its recomended not to exceed fuse ratings especially the amperage do to pretective reasons. You can get the proper FL231 fuse at the following link. They have a 10.00 minimum order for free shipping so you may have to order enough fuses to add up to 10.00 or pay for shipping if under 10.00 Heres the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/

This DLP model RCA tv have convergence menu disappearing is very easy to fix just replaced the convergence fuse FL 231 near the FBT also must be resoldering FBT too.U can buy this FL231 covergence fuse at Ebay.com.No,but u must have to have a soldering iron,a desoring pump or desoldering braids and know how to basic soldering? To replaced this FL231 convergence fuse near the FBT and also must resodering the FBT too for protecting the new FL231 convergence fuse.
I have an RCA 52” HDTV Model R52WM24 the other day it developed a convergence problem (The picture took on a 3D effect and it the screen had an hour glass type of shape)
This appears to be a common problem or a pattern failure.
I wanted to confirmthat I did find the fusep/n FL231 to be blown.
I think it said the RCA part # is 259213 and it is a 400 ma, 125V fuse, Looks like a square capacitor by the fly back xfmr.
I bought a generic part from Digi Key and it seems to be the identical replacement part to the fuse that was in the circuit.
The Digi-Key part is part # WK4440BK-ND (99 CENTS EACH).
THIS IS A 125V, 400 MA ( 0.4 A FUSE). Digi Key PHONE # IS 1-800-344-4539
I am watching the TV right now for last 3 hours and it seems to be a good fix.
The fly back transformer solder connections looked good but it is recommended to re solder these part ( so I did).
Go to Menu then to setup if you do not see Convergence in the menu then you have a blowed Fuse FL231 it will be on right hand side of FBT flyback Transfomer there is 3 in a roll it will be the Middle one they are small brown rectrangler Looking caps but are Fuses Located on the Deflection board Bottom Left hand Board.
yes, thats the replacement fuse for your set. However unless you have replaced the convergence power supply also chances are the fuse will blow again, as the power supply shorting is what causes the convergence to get out of alignment and it will then blow FL231 thereby removing the convergence option from the menu.
Thanks to you, I was able to find the solution to my problem.
Have you tried using the correct Fusible Link? I noticed in another post that you said you replaced it with a 500ma instead of the 400ma. I had the same original problem as you and found the exact fuseible links at www.mouser.com. Part# 576-3960400000 Littelfuse Fuses - A 125V UL TL LL .400A . They are only 55 cents plus shipping. I bought 5 for under $10 shipped. Only took 2 days to get them. My TV works like a charm now! I too thought I may need to replace the IC's but thankfully my TV is working fine. If you did need to replace them, where were they located? I couldn't find any stk IC's inside either and the IC's on the heat sinks are all small. Just trying to be proactive, in case I ever need to replace them.
