Question about Toshiba 50H72 50" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Hello, I Have a Mitsubishi WD-62725 (62") DLP rear projection TV. Ever since I changed the lamp the last time, the picture is jumpy when I turn it on, with all kinds of imperfections. It slowly goes away, but the imperfections (like video static noise) remains, although to different extents each time. I tried the following: 1) changing the lamp back to the previous one, 2) buying another lamp, 3) opening the TV from the back and making sure that the lamp connection is solid. Nothing works. Any ideas?

This is a problem with bad capacitors on your FMT board inside the tv.. Not exactly a "do it yourself" type of repair unless you are very good with soldering and have electrical repair knowledge.

Well, to tell the honest truth, these particular sets are RIDDLED with problems from what I have seen. Bad color wheels usually come with a symptom of a screeching or screaming sound coming from the set... However, these tv's used sub-standard Jamico capacitors and they regulary fail in the power supply, dm module, and fmt board.

I would almost recommend fixing it if you can get it done for around 300.00 , but once you get it fixed...sell it!

I have one of these sets sitting in my garage that I am still trying to justify fixing myself for use in the kids room...but with the commonality of problems and the cost of the fmt board, I still cant see spending the money and labor on..

No display or sound on Mitsubishi WD-52725

This is a DLP They have issues with the color wheel, the winding sound could be from this color wheel. If it stops spinning it will cause the tv to shut down. DLP is a mechanical display process. If you are handy and understand electronics you could replace this yourself. If not i would let a tech handle it.

How does tv know when lamp is expired -changed bulb after yellow lighht came on but light stayed on months later the light went to red and tv wont turn on

When the lamp goes on a DLP you get no picture, if the light came on and you still had a pic then it might have been telling you ,you had other problems. If the TV wont come on now check your bulb it might be blown this time. The bulb will have lots of small peices of glass in it when its blown. They should last a few years each (3-4).

Mitsubishi Projection TV WD-62525

Could be quite a few things wrong. first I would do self test diagnosis and see what error you get, then check that area. It could be a bad Ballast or it could be Fuse F9a09 and the Light Engine. It also could be Caps C9a37 and C9a38. For additional info www.ctechnicians.com
