SOURCE: Left speaker is very quiet

This may be a capacitor problem, evaluate and replace if bad.

I have a Bose Acoustimass 6 Series III the receiver is Yamaha 3066, this system is a 5.1 surround sound. Then I bought a pair of Bose 901 Series VI Direct/Reflective speaker system with active equaliz

The setup is possible, but with several compromises. First off, to use the active equalizer, you'll need to insert this into one of the 2 channel AV channels limiting your listening with the equalizer to stereo only. The acoustimass subwoofer acts a driver/power regulator for the little cube speakers. It probably will not be able to drive the 901s at the correct level when attached to the Acoustimass unit as front left/right speakers. You could try running a dedicated set of speaker leads to the 901s which may work and still allow surround sound, but you'll lose the equalization capability on the 901s.

I aquired Bose Acoustimass 15 surround sound through home purchase. Hooked wires up to reciever and hdmi to tv and i got nothing. my question is, how do you turn on the sub? just plug it in?

Hey Any chance you have the Acoustimass 15 II or III? The first Acoustimass 15 has a switch. The II and II models turn off and on when it receives a signal from the source you are using. Amplifier, ect. All you need to do is make sure everything hooked up correctly and plug it in.

Better sound through bose speakers?

If you have the money to plunk down for a Bose Acoustimass home theater speaker system, I'm sure you will be quite pleased. Of course, as you indicated, appropriate placement of the speakers is important. Still, I'm sure you will find that a properly placed Bose Acoustimass speaker system will fill your room with high quality sound, substantially better than Onkyo's stock speakers placed equally well.

I own a Technics home theater system, which I initially purchased to use in my family room. Yet, when I listened to a Bose Lifestyle system (powered by Bose Acoustimass speakers), I could have nothing less. The Bose system went in the family room, where everyone could enjoy it. I put the Technics system in the bedroom, where it is rarely used.

I have a Lifestyle 35 and want to replace head unit with a 5.1 receiver. The Bose subwoofer model LSPS uses a network type cable connector on the sub side and a male din plug on the head unit side of...

The entire 5.1 amplification system, in the Bose Lifestyle 35, is actually part of the Bose Acoustimass (subwoofer) module. The RJ-45 (network type) connector passes a low-voltage signal from the console to the Acoustimass module. If you were to hack the connection, and plug the speaker outputs of a 5.1 receiver to the RJ-45 socket on the Acoustimass module, you would blow the amplifier.

If you are really itching to replace the Bose Lifestyle 35 console with a regular 5.1 receiver, I strongly suggest you sell your Bose system, and purchase a Bose speaker system, such as the Acoustimass 10 Home Theater Speaker System, which is made for use with a standard 5.1 surround sound receiver.

I have a bose v20 and a harmon kardon receiver. Should I be returning the bose system, buy just the speakers, and and outside subwoofer, or what is the best system for watching movies etc? What would be...

If you have the harmon kardon receiver, check out this reasonably priced system. You can actually find it cheaper than at this website but I have these speakers and, when paired with the Klipsch sub-woofer, it makes movie watching an unbelievable experience.

Bose Acoustimass 15 subwoofer is completely dead.

Clarify, did it ever work for you? Were both receivers used properly configured for the subwoofer? Did you also test the other speaker moduels running off the subwooferto see if they work?

Speaker Receiver setting
• Left and right LARGE
• Center LARGE
• Left and right surround LARGE
• Center surround* LARGE
• LFE/Subwoofer ON
With an Acoustimass 16 Series II system or upgraded Acoustimass 15 Series IlI system only.

Subwoofer blows internal fuse when receiver is turned on

Has it ever worked?

Try this - connect one pair of its speaker wires at a time and test it. Watch the polarity.

• Make sure all cube speaker arrays are connected to the proper terminals according to their
position in your room.
• Check to be sure all wires are connected to your surround receiver with the proper polarity
(+ to + and – to – wires). Incorrect wiring can result in a total loss of module output.
• Correct any wiring problems before you plug in your receiver and turn it on.
