would be a good idea to uninstall and reinstall the cam and reboot start again

Wow..i've posted many answers to the Orbi Cam...

I will repost the urls for you...Being an Acer owner, I know how frustrating it is getting this camera to work.

First of all, uninstall any drivers you currently have for that orbi cam.
Secondly, visit this site and install

Camera Bison Driver ver. 5.0

Once you have downloaded that specific driver, extract it, and reboot. Let me know if this works for you ...if not we can install the Orbi Cam driver as well, from the same site..

try to uninstalled the orbicam application and then restart
and installed it again.
FYI, if you don't have the application, you can download from acer website; www.acerpanam.com
There are 3 type of orbicam (bison, suyin and logitech).
i don't know which one is yours, you can try 1 by 1.
make sure you uninstalled when you want to installed another orbicam application.

load your driver from here

try it by re installing the driver or by installing the cd-rom which came with the cam...................

Checked if your orbicam is in device manager (under imaging device),
if it still there, you might have wrong orbicam application installed. try to download the orbicam application, there are 3 type of orbicam for Aspire 5050 (suyin, bison and logitech). try to installed one by one.
or if you can try to reload the whole windows, using alt+f10 during boot.

Start - Programs - look for Acer Empowering technology Acer E-recovery - choose Restore - choose Apps and Drivers at the bottom of Restore tab (it will say extracting) - once extracted - click Install - click Vista on the left - click Drivers - click Camera or CCD - on the right side of the screen, click a phrase that has something like "Install now", follow on screen instructions.

** Note ** When the My Pictures or Pictures folder gets full, camera will not work - Cut and Paste all pictures in that folder to another folder and restart Orbicam program.
