Till now I did not know you could pair a mouse to an iPad. When someone is selling mice you can connect via bluetooth, they will give you the manual to. I hope you know, the iPad is not a computer on which you can connect lots of things. Only when Apple allows you to put anything on, or connect via bluetooth, it can work. Not when you think it should be great.
Because Apple made it possible to connect their key board to the iPad, you now can buy third party keyboards that work with the iPad.
If it's a bluetooth keyboard you simply have to pair it with the iPad. By pair you would go into your iPad, Settings, Bluetooth. Make sure it's bluetooth is switched on then press the button on the top right of the keyboard. I attached a picture of where the button is. After that you should see on your iPad while you still have your bluetooth settings pulled up a new keyboard shows up and it will say not connected. Click on it and it will ask you to enter some keys on the blue tooth keyboard to make sure you got the right one.
I am assuming this is the apple bluetooth keyboard they sell in stores, if it isn't please reply with what type of keyboard you have and I can figure out what button to press.
if its a bluetooth key board go to the settings on your ipad turn on your bluetooth click find devicesand locate the key board tap on it and put in the pairing code (usually 0000 or 1234) that should allow you to pair your keyboard and ipad
It
isn't often that Apple gives specific directions about how to fix your
problem! Restoring the iPad will erase everything on it, so make sure
everything on the iPad is stored elsewhere prior to restoring. To
restore, connect your iPad to a computer with the latest version of
iTunes installed. When your iPad appears under the devices menu, click
the restore option under the summary tab. If you haven't backed up your
data already, choose the back up option from the pop up window. Click
the restore button to restore your Touch to factory spec.
Bad logic board
If attempting to restore the iPad and diagnosing does not fix the problem, the issue is probably the logic board.
Sometimes Bluetooth devices connect better if they are not too close to each other, so separate them by a couple of feet to see if that helps.
If the keyboard is charged and turned on, do you see any lights blinking on the keyboard? there should be some indicator lights if it is working properly.
In your Bluetooth settings on the iPad, does your keyboard appear under Devices? If it is listed, click on it to start making the connection. If that doesn't work, click on the arrow to the right and 'Forget this Device'. Turn your pad Bluetooth off then back on and try making the connection again. Often the forgetting process and rediscovering can fix a connection problem.
If none of these work, try searching your keyboard brand and model at apple's support discussion for iPad community to see if it is compatible or other people report the same connecting problem.
Bluetooth is funky, i've been in an Apple store and could not connect to a Bluetooth device that apple sells in their store, although the store employee could connect his iPad to the same device, we couldn't get mine connected. Good luck!
