Question about Craftsman 8.0 amp Reciprocating Saw
I have a craftsman m/n 900-275020 reciprocating saw,the piece on the front fell off ,its used to angle saw and keep pressure againgt workpiece.I think it mounts on whats called the shoe.anyway took it to sears for repair and it came back without same piece I sent it in for to be replaced..It cost 79$ and still cant be used due to missing part.I looked on the parts list and its not on there. This piece pivots depending on angle of saw on workpiece, what is it called and is it available. My saw is not 8 amp but 6.5 if that makes a difference
OK just looked at the Searspartsdirect.com website and there are 2 parts that I think it could possibly be. One is the SHOE part # 399725-00 list 4.86 in stock and or guard 157325-00 list 4.59 also in stock. I would suggest that you go to this site and confirm which one you need, but the shoe is the piece that does ride against the work surface. Good Luck and let me know if I can help further

I have the same saw. It sounds like you are talking about the shoe or the finger guard. If either of these are missing the saw will still work. My saw does not have the finger guard on it anymore. The shoe does however often ride along the work your cutting.
