Question about Televison & Video
We shut the tv off three days ago and it will not turn on. The green light comes on to indicate there is power, will stay on for 5 seconds then goes off. It will repeat this process on its own 3 times in a row. Then we have to wait 10 seconds before we can press the power button again only to begin the on /off cycle all over. We have tried unplugging it for 10 seconds. 1/2 hour, and finally all night long.. Still the tv will not turn on. Have checked the wall outlet and the surge protector we have it plugged in..and they work just fine. It doesn't work with the remote either...and we changed the batteries in that. Is there a reset button somewhere on this thing, or something we can do to fix it ourselves. If so please share info. along with any diagrams that might be useful.... We have a RCA HDTV 52" rear projection type. the model # is D52W14 yx1 I have the same problem with mine. The only way I have found to get use out of it, and it works only about half the time, is to keep trying to turn it on with the remote every 15 seconds or so. Maybe someone can find a better solution?
Replace the flyback 25296 and the CP150 and CP114 capacitor. You can get the flyback and the capacitors at the following link and they provide free installation instructions with pics so you can easially do the repair yourself. heres the link.

SOURCE: RCA tv model D52W14
That is an ITC222 chassis and likely the HOT has shorted, 2sc5588 Rca Part # 259899
You might also check Cp150 2200uf/16v in the 6 volt line, a common failure. Always replace Cp120 330uf/35v & Cp150 2200uf/16v and always resolder Cl031 & Cl032...
There is also a tech bulletin Tv-06003 Dated 12/8/2006 which states:
Replace deformed ribbon cable plastic connector BP005 on the flyback board. This connector is warping or bowing (May Not Even Look Like It) and causing poor connections to the ribbon cable. Replace Rca P/N # 258686.
Try putting pressure on the BP005 connector and turn the set on, you may find the set will now work fine. Replace connector and you may wish to replace the ribbon as well while you are doing the repair!
This set is notorious for failures like this and it is not uncommon to find multiple problems.
Hope this helps!
