The touch pad on my Toshiba Satellite A-105 was working fine, and then all of sudden it quit working. I put a regular mouse on it and it works. I can remove the mouse and still the mouse pad will not work. What could be the problem?

Re: My touch pad on toshiba will not work.
Hold down the function key and press F9. That enables/disables the touch pad. The function key is the one with the letters 'Fn' on it. If that doesn't work, let me know and I well explain the long answer.

To remove the bios password you will need to look for J1 jumper on the motherboard, unlike desktop motherboards with traditional jumpers this jumper is flat on the board are look like two copper pads that do not touch in the center you will need to take a paper clip and short it. Most of the time in most toshiba notebooks it is in the same area as the RAM next to it will say j1 Or he Password can be removed via the printer port What you need is a password removal tool, It removes the Bios and start-up passwords. It costs about £5.00. Easy to build but it costs more to put the kit together. I think you were quite hard on the assistance. People here are just trying to help. At least appreciate that!
I also have encountered that problem particularly on my touchpad. When I tried to open the laptop I've notice that the flex cable connecting the touchpad to my motherboard is detached. When I put them back. It was working properly.
Uninstall the Touch-pad completely. Go to, and (Type): Toshiba Resources from the Start Menu. Type in Search by Product ("Synaptics Touchpad V7.2 on PS/2 Port"). Download, and restart the Computer, you may need to reconfigure functions (IE. "Sensitivity"). If by chance this fail? go back to Devce Manager and "Update Drivers (manually) using the ("Let me "update Driver").
