Pilot lights and furnace starts and runs well, cycling normally, until nearing shutoff time (or if I turn the thermostat down) then the pilot suddenly shuts off with an audible click.

Make sure the thermocoupler is tight this thing runs on propane its not the cleanest burning fuel tends to leave a residue on the orifice
It likely is 24 v DC wired in parallel although it could be the thermostat or the transformer its more likely to be whats called the Aquastat witch is a control limiter for the boiler temperature if this is reading incorrectly at high or low temp its going to shut system down its a safety switch .
Get part numbers and go on line its the only way you will ever find parts for this thing good luck P.S you can also get wiring diagrams on line with model and part #s.

I AM WORKING ON A COZY W501E WALL FURNACE AND CANT GET THE PILOT TO STAY LIT. i HAVE CHANGED THE GAS VALVE, THERMOCOUPLE,AND THE SENSOR FOR THE HIGH LIMIT. THE PILOT WONT STAY LIT.

Pretty much the only thing that will do that is the thermocouple not generating enough voltage for the valve to say it's OK.
Usually you need to hold the button for pilot lighting for 60 seconds. You can use a meter to check that it's generating enough power. The thermocouple has to be in the pilot flame properly.

Furnace does not start

Furnaces usually have a high temp limit switch that turn off the gas if the plenum gets too hot, as it may if the fan fails (or air flow is restricted) and the furnace is running. These are in series with the gas valve so if they fail open will prevent the furnace from ever turning on.
Trace the circuit from the transformer through each component (including the thermostat) and check for an open circuit at each location. Replace the one that has an open circuit.
Also check the fan to be sure it is working properly when you directly connect power to it.

I have a Intertherm gas furnace mod# MGHA 070ABFC 05. It comes on for 30 seconds then off for 30 then on and continues this.

hi,

check how far away the thermocouple is from the pilot flame, the end of the thermocouple probe should be in the flame, adjust it over. if its in the flame then it might need a thermocouple element it unbolts from the manifold. or the pilot flame may not be big enough to hold the valve open, have to research or use a wire the circumfrence of a bread tie to clean out the pilot orifice. always have a fire extinguisher in your rv..

Furnace will not respond to thermostat call for heat. Thermostat has been replaced with no effect. Have been informed it may thermocouple problem. Please advise. Thank you.

there's no thermocouple.there is many other safeties.hears what happens when you turn on;.1 draft inducer motor comes on. if all is ok with vent, then; 2 ignightor turns on .after a few seconds; 3 gas valve turns on if all limit switches and inducer switch are closed;.4 flame sensor checks for flame.after short delay fan comes on.if any safety switch is open theres no heat.look in little window and count red blinking light.theres a chart inside cover that will tell you whats wrong.some times theres water in tube going from draft inducer to diafram switch.the limits around fire box can be reset by pushing button in center.if theres no red light then low voltage transformer may be bad theres also a little fuse on board.if its blown you need to find out why.also any of these parts can go bad at any time.good luck

Just moved into this house and notice the furnace not working right It is and older unit know name or writing on it I rehooked up wiring to it but now blower run all the time and the only to shut off is...

Older furnaces used to have a fan switch that read winter or summer, or auto and on. You should also have a fused switch to the furnace, wiring runs black to the switch thru the fuse and to the furnace black wire. White wire is straight to furnace from electrical panel. This is for power feed to furnace only. Now the thermostat is red to the transformer white to white. This was a very simple old furnace they had very little safety devises. The fan switch was an older high end model so you could blow the cool air from the basement thru out the whole house in the summer, and the fan ran constantly.

Cozy wall furnace (propane) does not respond to thermostat. The pilot is lit. Furnace is 3 yrs. old and rarely works. The wire to thermostat is 20 feet.

Try jumping the two thermostat wires together to see if the heater starts. If so, replace your thermostat. If not, jump the two terminals where the thermosta twires attach to the furnace. If it starts, you have a bad thermostat wire or connection.
