Trimming function won't work

I want to trim (zoom in) on a picture following the instructions, but this function doesn't seem to work. I can select the picture, zoom in to the desired final result, but when I then hit the shutter button to invoke the trimming funtion, nothing happens.

Re: Trimming function won't work

This is Digital Zoom I take it. best to ignore it then and do all image editing in an image editor. Do get onto Panasonic Tech Support that may have an answer for you.

I'm trying to crop the pictures i'v taken,it zooms in & out but doesnt come up trimming ok?

I found a driver for the s7000 on the website, but no manual online.

Can you go to a mode where the arrow keys can be used to move the page around for the cropping? That's all I can think of to accomplish the task.

Zooming in and out is ok, but I'm sure you want to move the image around a little bit, or move the borders of the cropping around.

Good luck on this.

After taking a standard 1x picture when I look at it and bring it up to lets say 2x or 4x I want so save that one and download it not the first one,but it always goes to the 1x one.

You really should do this in a photo editing program. But, your camera may have a trimming function. To check on this, press menu/set, then playback menu, then select "trimming". Select the pic you want to trim using the left/right arrow keys and follow the on-screen instructions. The picture quality will be reduced using this method.

Digital zoom magnifies the pixels to seem like you're getting closer to the subject but you're not. The larger the pixels, the worse the picture will look. You should never use the digital zoom (most people disable it). Only use the optical zoom.

Erasing the memory card;

All pictures in the internal memory and/or on the memory card can be erased at once. This is accomplished through either formatting or the "all-frame erase" function. I copied the following instructions from the advanced manual, which can be downloaded here: Adobe reader should open that file with no problem. If it doesn't, that's another issue altogether.

1. Enter playback mode by pressing the play button.
2. Press the OK MENU button.
3. Press the right arrow button (next to the lightning bolt) to access [MODE MENU]
4. Then, press the down arrow to access the [MEMORY(CARD)] tab.
5. Select the [ALL ERASE] function.
6. Select Yes and press OK MENU.

(You'll need to use the arrow buttons to navigate the menus. Please see pg 16 of the manual for instructions on how to do so.)

Note: when the memory card is in the camera, it will erase the pictures off the card. When the card is removed, the function above will erase the internal memory.

Unfortunately, while this is an excellent camera and can do many things...

Cropping the images before transporting them to your computer is not something that this camera can do. You'll have to transfer the images to your computer and use your choice of software to crop and trim the images.

Sorry. :P

Cyber-shot w50 zoom problems

If this error message appears, turn off the camera and remove the batteries for 30 seconds. Afterwards, reinsert the batteries and turn the camera back on. Perform a manual reset of the camera. Once you perform this it will be back to factory settings and you will lose any pictures stored on your camera.

Sony DSC-W12 Camera

The W12 must be a European version of the W1 or W5 camera. The W12 is not available in the USA. It sounds like you have the "digital zoom" feature active. Digital zoom lowers the quality of the photo. It (in effect) reduces the megapixels applied to an area of a photo. Digital zoom should not be used if you want quality results.
