Install the card into any empty slot with the power unpluged. turn off the sound in the BIOS if you have sound on the present motherboard. Turn on the computer and install the sound software making sre that the disk is for the version of windows that you are using. If it is not , go to the sound card website and download the correct driver and install it. If one is not availble for you version of sindown then you my not use this that soundcard, until or if one is ever written and available. Often a driver is never available for older cards.

When i go into start accessories entertainment volume control it comes up with following there are no active mixer devices available

you might have to download a media player program like mp3 player Itunes or something similiar and make it your default sound device you can do this click start control panel sounds and audio devices select audio also voice you will see what you have as your default
if you download Itunes it will automatically take over your sound unless you select the option not to make it your default sound device i have provided a link to download an MP3 player if you need a default device hope it helps

I have a t60 and it says no active mixer and in control panel it says no audio device although i have downloaded from ibm. no icon

It sounds as though the driver was not correctly installed- try rebooting into safe mode (F8 at splash, select safe mode) and see if there are any devices in device manager with exclamation points. If there are, that is likely your culprit- try uninstalling them then reinstalling the drivers.

Sound card no found, no audio output deivice is install and sound, game cotroller not found, pls help

No Sound, No Volume Control, Mixer not Found, No Sound device installed…etc etc, This is a generic issue with all Windows OS updates....many of the users are facing this issue....this issue began after an auto update from MS changed many IRQs of Win OS, mainly the Sound and Audio Control system of Windows.
1 - R U facing NO Audio / No Sound issue...?
2 - Is ur Volume Control not responding ?
3 - Is ur Sound and Audio Device in Control Panel Grayed out ?
4 - Do u get a msg "No Active Mixer Devices Installed....when u try to open Volume Ctrl etc etc ?

If ur ans to any one of them is Yes...then u are being spammed by Microsoft....as ur Sound Control IRQ is being frozen by a recent update from Microsoft....

NOTE..THIS…IS…VERY..IMPORTANT...
No file update or any sound driver update can fix it, neither Microsoft is issuing any patch to fix it…or giving any help on this.
Full solution is available in my website (Support page)...it's quite simple process to fix it, and I am not charging any money, just trying to do some service and help everyone affected by this stupidity from Microsoft.

visit my support page.

all the best...

Audio problem

You either have the wrong driver installed or a conflicting driver is present. Go to control panel->system->device manager-> look for the yellow exclamation point, double click on it and follow those instructions. If that does not work. Right click on the device, REMOVE, then reboot and let it refind it.
