Samsung HM251JI 250 GB SATA Hard Drive firmware download

I suggest reading the manual for this disk, which can be downloaded here
http://www.nodevice.com/download/user_manual/samsung+hm251ji.html
At the beginning, Q5 says:

"I am looking for a Software & Firmware (mainly about drivers) but I

found nothing.

Where I can find I want ?

We don't release any firmwares.

Because the product has been already optimized with its own

configurations.

IDE (PATA & SATA) drive does not need any drivers. You just have

to make a partition and format your drive for using.

Please make sure whether you had partitioned and formatted.

First of all, you must partition and format for recognizing the new

drive in the Windows Explorer.

Within Win98 series, please use the Fdisk.

Within Win2000 & Win-XP, please use the Disk Management.

When installing Win2000 or Win-XP, the installation process
includes the partitioning step itself." etc.

Hard drive not being recognised by compaq presario SR1975AN on warm boot

The hard disk may be running too hot.
The desktop case inside temperature maybe too hot. Check the power supply fan/CPU fan are operating correctly. You may need additional cooling in the desktop case an additional fan near the hard disk.

I am trying to install my 1tb s2 samsung potable hard drive on my laptop but i wont install it

external HDD are plug and play devices and will be recognized automatically, the problem detecting large capacity drives like this relies on what type of hardware you are using (laptop itself). what I am trying to point is that old laptop only recognize lower capacity drives and thus have this issue.
but if you are using the latest hardwares and OS, just let me know so that i can pin point the problem.

I have replaced the hard drive on my HP G5000 laptop with a Samsung HM161GI drive. All tests OK on BIOS diagnostics, but Windows XP Setup says no hard disk is installed??

This happens because the hard disk is natively a SATA and XP doesn't have a generic SATA driver so from its point of view the disk is not there. You will need to go into the BIOS and set the SATA connection to use the legacy/IDE mode.

No absolutely not. This is happen when you delete your some system files on C: drive. It doesn't crash at once, But when you reboot. So don't ever delete your sys files. Now you can do is repair windows using the XP sp3 CD. Or replacing sys files using another OS.
Think this is helpful !

look for a usb device that is not working and right click install drivers or update drivers.

HD Shows up as 32 Mbyte instead of 1TByte

Well, yes for me to be able to help you navigate through the OS to accomplish a connection. I agree, it should have recognized the drive under any XP and above OS, but I don't know what you have.
So, I will give you instructions for Win-XP Pro. Unless the drive is bad, this should get it reformatted and recognized.

Use these steps to help navigate to a utility to 1) format the drive and then 2) assign a drive letter to the drive manually.

Go Start> Control Panel> Administrative Tools> Computer Management
Select Disk Management under Storage
Look to see if your Drive is listed and what the Status, Layout, Type, and File System it has.

Right mouse click on the dive and click on Format.
When Format completes then perform a Change Drive Letter and Path.
