Keyboard - Words in the wrong place

Hi the problem I have is that I am typing away in Word and then suddenly I am at the top of the page inserting words into what I have already written. The problem only seems to happen in Word and when I type at speed. Really, really annoying. Its not the touchpad or stick being toched in error as I have disabled both and still get the problem.

Dell inspiron 1505 types xxxxxxxxxxx by itself

Your keyboard most likely has a stuck "x" key, try lifting it up so it is not stuck in the down position. If this does not fix the problem then the keyboard needs to be replaced.

Keyboard functions I will be typing away and all of a sudden the cursor will jump back into another space where there is a word previously typed. Is there away to get this to stop doing that.

This can happen if we are placing the hand over the touchpad while typing.. But if you are not placing the hand on the touchpad and while typing if you face this issue..
Unistall the touchpad, keyboard drivers that is already present in the device manager
Install a fresh copy from the acer website( - the issue will be fixed

I think the keyboard is making short circuit. You can try to send it back to the manufacturer.

What you can try before sending it to the manufacturer, is updating the drivers.

Cursor won't stay where I move it with the mouse

Hi, your first problem (and possibly second problem) sounds like it's the "Insert" function on your keyboard. I've seen this a lot. Find the Insert key on your keyboard. It's normally off to the right side with the Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down keys. When you have the problem, press the Insert key and then keep typing. It should toggle between the cursor moving with typing, and not. If this was helpful, please rate my response. Thanks!

I'm getting wrong letters in the words as I'm typing.

Elementary! The numlock key had accidently been pushed. We had to use the FN and numb lock key together to reset the keyboard.

When typing, words skip and often scatter or stop

go to my computer icon, right click, properties>hardware tab>device manager, then lok down the list to keyboard, click on the + sign and right click on your keyboard and select uninstall.

Restart the notebook and the driver will automatically load again and should type as normal.
