How do I replace the CMOS battery in SONY PCV-V300G ?

Hello,

I am assuming this is the all-in-one model? The CMOS battery is on the motherboard (E.G. - should be able to see the battery--not covered/hidden). You can use a small screw driver (non-magnetic) to pry the battery out. Question: Are your settings not saving when booting the system (CMOS) OR are you having sudden power shutdowns (Power supply)?
Accessing the motherboard on all-in-ones is like doing so on a laptop--thus I would find a procedure online for accessing the motherboard (manufacturer) OR if the problem is the CMOS battery take it to a shop if you do not feel comfortable.

I hope this helps.

How long is my lap top battery warranty for

Hello.

Typically, your warranty covers the entire laptop and most manufacturers include a one-year warranty with paid options to extend the warranty.

Hope this helps.

Error 161 & 163 on ibm aptiva 2168-m62

try this one:

Errors 161, 192, 163.
All three of these errors are connected to the back up
battery.
To resolve this problem:
1. open memory flap on base of laptop (small philips
screwdriver required)
2. find the small connector with 1 black & 1 red wire
coming from it.
3. disconnect above connector and gently pull the
Red&black wires. The backup battery should just pull out
from under the casing.
4. get replacement battery. Either
a. call IBM spares (07900 247 490 in UK) and ask for FRU:
02K6502. UK price is about £8 + £15 delivery + VAT.
b. if comfortable with soldering iron: Carefully open the
packaging on the backup battery using a sharp knife.
Remove the solder tags from the battery (these are spot
welded so need to be cut/broken off). Buy a new CR2025
battery from any computer shop, jeweler, or camera shop.
Using electrical tape, insulate all round edge of battery
(see the one just removed). Solder the leads onto the new
battery - note polarity. Red wire to +, black wire to -.
Using more insulating tape, wrap battery so that all
exposed metal is covered.
5. put new battery into laptop (reverse steps 1-3)
6. start up computer, error 192 has gone, but still shows
161, 163. Select OK.
7. reset date & time, and OK
8. when screen shows 'O / I' restart laptop using on/off
switch at side.

Failing Laptop Cmos battery and need bigger HD

As a general rule of thumb , the CMOS battery can be found underneath the keyboard. The keyboard can generally be removed by inserting a screwdriver into the thing gap at each side at the top and then gently lifting the meyboard up. Be careful with the cables connecting the keyboard to the motherboard though!

I cannot find a removal guide for the hard drive. However , look for a slot or cover on the side of the laptop , similar in size to your cd drive. Then turn the laptop up side down and unscrew one of the screws thats somewhere near the slot or cover , remove the cover and slide the drive out, If you can get the cover off but not get the drive to slide out , try unscrewing another screw as most laptops have a few screws holding the cover on and another to release the drive.

Can't change settings in bios and hd locked with unknown password

unplug the computer, remove the computer cover(usually 2-4 philips head screws),remove the small round battery (cmos) from the main board for about 2 minutes, replace it, install cover, power cord, REBOOT.
this will clear the password and reset the bios to defaults.

Hello I have a HP laptop and wstwrday was everything OK. Today morning I turn it on and screen is black and laptop make it just sound.. PiiiP one long and two short ? what cain of problem is...

Sounds like a Power-On Self Test (POST) error.

Usually one long and three short beeps indicate a memory error.

Could anything have happened to dislodge the memory? You could try unpluging, taking out the battery, earthing yourself and then removing the cover on the memory enclosure (usually one screw at the bottom releases the cover). Check that the modules are pressed right home into their clips.

If there is more than one module, try removing one at a time to see if there is one failed one.

If the memory has failed, you are looking at new memory I'm afraid.
