I have a small dent in my stainless steel refrigerator. I've tried a plunger and the blow dryer and dry ice trick any other ideas?

Because it is stainless steel it is not likely that it will come out the compressed air and blow dryer are you best bet but it is unlikely that it will come out

It is not starting

Many possiblities, but first thing to check is door switch. Unit will not run if door is not closed. Door switch is safe feature. Remove outer casing and check to see if switch is broken or miss alined.

Should the door creaks

I'd say you're right that the damage is causing the problem when the material expands.

This will eventually wear away the material and could lead to other problems unless you lubricate the tight spot regularly.

As much trouble as it is, I think returning it will mean less trouble than you may face otherwise.

Is my dented microwave safe to use?

Hello carillon553,
If you haven't compromised the door opening or inner compartment, then it is more than likely OK to use. The magnetron ( which generated the microwave energy ) has a waveguide that focuses that energu into the cooking compartment and a small dent to the cabinet normally has no impact on its safety.. Hope that helps..
If you are overly concerned with that, then you would need a technician that has an RF Power Meter to check it.. If it were me, and the dent was small.. I would just use it...
Regards,
Rick

Stainless Steel oven door dent fix

The best repair is to take apart the door panels, bang the dent pout from the other side, then sand and polish it smooth.

Otherwise, there may be some dent filler you can use, then sand and smooth it.

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) here that demonstrates how it's done.

GE STAINLESS STEEL MICROWAVE OVEN.

One way is to separate the door panels, bang out the dent from the other side, then burnish the area.

Otherwise, you can replace the damaged piece. You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

If she's really the forgiving type, maybe she'd settle for your placing over the dent a little magnet or sticker that says, "I love my wife"? *GRIN!*
