What it sounds like is wiring inside to the speakers got disconnected. Does the TV have a jack for headphones or external speakers? If so, then I would connect something to see if you get sound.
If you still do not have any sound, then your audio outputs may have fried.

32 Inch Brand new Samsung 32" LCD showing subtitles / no volume??

I had a similar problem, checked all of the TV's control settings only to find out that my cable box had an independent "mute" function that automatically turned on the closed captions when activated. Once I found that and turned it off, all was fine.

I have a Polariod FLM 3232 hdtv 32 inch tv The

Most universal remotes don't have the screen mode button. So, your better off with the orginal remote for the TV.
The cheapest place I can find one for you is NewRemoteControl.com
It's going for $49.95
It's a little pricey, but it will have all the option buttons for the TV.

I hope I answered your question. Please rate me. :)

My Polariod has no douns but great picture??

Make sure the speakers aren't turned off. It will be in the menu section under audio or sound. If you can find no other reason and you take the back off the set, look at the top of the bottom board. With a ohm Meter look for a Suface Mounted Resistor at the top of the board marked 100. Check the resistor on ohm . If it's over 100 ohms replace it. I don't think your dogs to blame.
