Question about Internet & Communication Software
Hi there, I just opened a new Skype account, but every time I log in no friends appear to be online although I know they are..? I've added them successfully. Could it be that they haven't accepted my add?
Really appreciate some help.. Been confused about this for a while.
more a checklist than a solution...
Do your friends appear in the list with a question mark? In that case they have not replied to your invitation (or they have blocked contact with people not already in their list.)
Just to make sure you're online: call "echo123" - type that in the filed for the phone number and record a message. When it plays back - is everything fine? If not, something is wrong with your setup.
Check your (Windows) firewall and ensure that "Skype.exe" is listed in the exceptions.
Check your router and ensure that UPnP ports are forwarded to port# 63492. (This should be done automatically, but if you have a chance, try to check it.)
The port number is the same as in Skype (Tools>Options>Advanced>Connection). Check the box to use port 80 and 443 as alternatives.
Check the options and see if there is anything that would block incoming calls.
If you succeed, please leave a comment here. If not, do the same and we'll go form there.
