Question about Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 3000 Keyboard/Mouse

Logitech Wave reciever not recognized

I just bought a Logitech Cordless Desktop Wave, and trying toget it to connect. When I connect the USB mini reciever, windows recognizes it as a USB Reciever, but cannot find the drivers. I have Windows XP Media Center Edition. I have tried the included disc, i have also tried installing the most up to date SetPoint on the website. It always says there was a problem installing your devices.
The reciever installs perfectly fine on a vista computer. I don't know what I could do.

I dont have the Pro, and as stated, I have installed the latest version of SetPoint already with no success. What else could I do? My USB drivers seem to be up to date, but I don't know how to update them anyway, if need be

if i uninstall everything under my usb controllers, is it as simple as scanning for hardware changes to reinstall them?

  • aboxell Jan 17, 2009

okay, that's the thing. I don't have a windows cd. This computer came with windows installed. and it is also a refurbished one, so It didn't come with a cd.

Just select OS 32 or 64 bit, etc.

Try installing on another XP machine. If it works on that machine, you should try uninstalling your entire USB bus (from device manager; anything under USB) and then trying again.

Yes. You may just need to have your windows CD available. But it wouldn't remove your NIC, so worst case you just go online and download updated stuff.

If you do this, after it reinstalls, run windows update.

Unable to connect Logitech cordless keyboard

Of course you know to press the connection button on the receiver then on the keyboard. Since setPoint is recognizing the connection I wonder do the multimedia and function keys work? Do you have the the USB receiver for the KB/Mouse plugged into a hub or KVM switch? If so plug it directly into the back of the PC. See this KB http://logitech-en-amr.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/logitech_en_amr.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=9247

Logitech wave cordless keyboard won't work

Do you have the piece that plugs into the computers usb port and changed the batteries, or charged it, I have a logitec on 2 machines, you either have a receiver that plugs into the laptop/desktop, or a device that takes up to 3 wirelwss accesories that plugs into the usb port, they both take batteries in the mouse and keyboard. you can download the software for your keyboard on the logitevh wesite, at www.logitech.com

Logitech cordless desktop wave

Attach one end (small end) of the usb cable to the receiver and the other end to the PC's USB port. If the receiver and the Mice needs batteries make sure you have placed the batteries correctly. Also make sure the Receiver & the mice may have a turn on/off switch is set to ON postion. Once you plug in the receiver to PC it will install on it own & will say 'ready to Use' and you should be good.

You probably already done this but try pressing the receiver button and while it is flashing turn the board over and press the small reset/connect button on the bottom of the board and also the reset/connect button on the bottom of the mouse. It should work okay after that. here is hoping that helps. Bud
