Some files might have been corrupted somehow.

As per the error, you need to uninstall Mcafee and then reboot the computer. Then once your windows boots back, re-install Mcafee from the CD you purchased. That should solve any corruption problems.

Need help uninstalling?  Click Start -> Run, then type appwiz.cpl and press enter. You will get the Add/Remove programs. Go down and select Mcafee Total Security and click on remove and follow the simple instructions on the screen.

How to register with Mcafee 12 months free internet security 2013. this is included when i buy acernotebook.

After purchasing a McAfee program online or from your local computer software retail store, the program must be registered on the official McAfee website to receive product updates.
These product updates keep your software's virus definitions current, preventing new viruses from infecting your computer.
Once your product is registered, you will receive free virus definition updates for the length of your McAfee AntiVirus subscription, which is usually one year.
To maintain computer protection, renew your subscription annually.

Visit the McAfee registration page using the link Below.
http://software.mcafee.com/support/cust_care/reg_intro.asp
Click the circle next to the option detailing how your software was acquired, and click the "Continue" button to proceed with the registration process.

Enter your full name, address, phone number and zip code in the appropriate fields.
Enter your email address, and select where you purchased the software.

Click the drop-down menu next to "Product" and select the name of your software from the menu. Enter the product identification number found on the bottom of your purchased software box, or enter the activation number sent to your email address after you purchased the software.
Click the "Submit" button to finalize the registration.
McAfee will send an email to you confirming the completion of the registration.

I renewed my subscription (order no.1863817887) on Dec 26 but am still getting messages that my sub has run out and computer is unprotected.

If you purchased the NIS 05 and you did not pay a new subscription in 2006, then it is expired.
You would have to purchase a new subscription for 2009 for 2010. Not a renewal. I would find that out, since NIS05 is not working.

SPEAKING WITH MY EXPERIENCE TRY SOMETHING ELSE. If you find the information below helpful, pls rate me.

FREE SPYWARE
Download Spybot Search & Destroy. Restart computer, then run Spybot to see what spyware comes up, AND DELET IT.

FYI---Virus Protection-- 2 programs of virus protection will conflict with each other and will actually cancel out the protection. SO just download one.

Running Spybot Search & Destroy with EITHER Avast or Avg (great Free virus protection programs ) will keep a computer in good working condition. FREE

I am sorry but I cannot see how this site can possibly help you resolve a billing issue with Symantec. Nor can I see any possible reason why they would have referred you to a third party. You need to take this up with Symantec.

Move location of mcafee site advisor toolbar

Ok if you were like me and updated your mcafee security and it updated your siteadvisor it moved it from by your status bar to your toolbar. I uninstalled mcafee internet security, then reinstalled it using the custom setting. After you do that do not install siteadvisor. Once all that is done install mcafee siteadvisor for firefox on its own and this should solve the problem it worked for me.
