Question about Citizen Skyhawk Eco-Drive JR306059F Wrist Watch

Echo drive skyhawk,My watch's time zone is always one hour behind

I'm going with NY city time but when I set it, the UTC is one hour behind. I decided to set all of the time zone with daylight city time but when I do that my time zone (NY city) is one hour ahead. It goes back and forth.

Anyone know if this problem can be solved or is the watch too old to adapt to our new (one week adjusted) daylight savings time.

You posted this in January, which is not during daylight savings time. The SMT setting doesn't turn on automatic DST switching for a particular timezone; rather, it is a manual override to adjust timezones to DST when it is actually active. There is no automatic DST adjustment for this watch (according to their FAQ). Turn SMT to OF for all timezones during winter months, and ON for applicable timezones during SuMmer Time (SMT).

From what I am able to conclude, you should set UTC time to correct time (Goolge "UTC time" to get it) Then each timezone has to be adjusted manually when DST comes. So in November set all cities to OFF. Then in March you have to look up which cities observe DST and set them to ON again. Very inelegant.

They should have made it so you tell the watch which cities observe DST in the "Set" mode. Then in the "Time" mode you would turn DST On or OFF, and it would affect the time only for cities that are set to observe DST. This watch does not work that way. Frustrating.

Your UTC Time is the the same as London time. So set your UTC time what ever time it is in London. Once you do that the watch automatically knows the other time zones. Day light savings should be set if applies. See if that works

London observes DST, so your advice is only accurate 6 months out of the year. The rest of the year London is one hour off of UTC.

I have the correct time set in the watch, the main analog clock shows the correct time, but the UTC analog hands19:00 when the UTC digital time is 12:00. How do I reset the UTC analog hour hands?

The hands are driven by the digital. It seems to me you have the wrong digital city. Please review the setting instructions for your Skyhawk at: http://www.citizenwatch.com/

BTW, I love my Titinimum Skyhawk

My Citizen Skyhawk analog UTC hour hand is alway 1 hour ahead of the UTC digital hour. I've tried reset and the hour/min hand alignment process without success. Any ideas other than sending in the watch...

You've gotta go to the set setting, one click out on the knob and cycle through all the timezones using the B button (the lower one) to change all the settings to OF (for winter) or ON (for summer time). According to their website FAQ, they can't determine when daylight savings time goes into effect for all the different time zones so there is no automatic changeover from SMT to normal and back again. Disappointing, I know. I just spent half an hour going through their website looking for some master switchover as well.

Utc Dial does not match Digital utc readout and I can't for the life of me figure out how to sync them

I finally figured this out... You must zero all the hands by setting the mode to CHR and pulling the stem to the second stop. Go through the process of setting the hour and second hand to zero. The secret is that zeroing the MINUTE hand also controls the UTC display zeroing. You will have to crank it until the UTC display reads 0:00 (24:00). Then go back and set the time and so on as usual.

I am trying to set the time zone for Adelaide South Australia which is +10.30 hours UTC. Is thereany way to add 30 min steps to the UTC time setting

Set watch to CHR mode, pull out crown, all dials will return to 0 posn. HR shoul be displayed on left digital panel. Move hour hand by turning crown to posn half way between 12 and one, press top button (MIN should appear in left panel), set min to 6 o'clock posn. Push crown back in and set time for timezone nearest to where you are that is offset by one hour.

Can you change UTC time to current time xone

If the store you purchased the watch at has not set the time to the correct time zone then obviously the different time zone (UTC in this case) that is showing on your digi face isnt exactly helpful....

Best bet is to go to the interactive watch instructions on www.citizenwatch.com to follow along on how to get it into your own time zone.
Just type in your model number exactly JR3060-59F into the search field. On the right side of the page is the Get Technical Info link..click on this choice. Now on this page is the next link...right side at the bottom of the list> Interactive setting instructions. The page changes again and you see the choice menu. Find Zone Settings...click and follow the instructions (note there is sound to it so turn your speakers on if you have them)

Citizen Skyhawk Time Adjustment Problem

It is possible to set the main analogue hour and minute hand 30 minutes out of phase with the digital readout, but doing so will also put the analogue UTC dial 30 minutes off. It can be done by using a variation of the proceedure for zeroing the watch hands as follows: 1. Rotate the crown in its normal opering position to set the watch in chronograph mode (mode dial pointing to "chr") 2. Pull out the crown to the second click. This should cause all the hands on the watch to return to zero. "HR" should appear on the left-hand digital display. This will allow you to move the hour hand by twisting the crown. Advance it to about half way between the 12 o'clock and 1 o'clock positions. 3. Press the top button. "MIN" should appear in the left-hand digital display. This allows you to adjust the minute hand. Twist the crown to advance it to the 6 o'clock, or 30 minute, position. Note that this will also move the minute hand on the small UTC dial to the 30 minute position. 4. Press the crown back into its normal position. 5. Reset the digital time and date according to a time zone that is in a one-hour offset from UTC. This is not a perfect solution. Your digital readings will show the correct time for all one-hour offset time zones while your analogue nads are 30 minutes out of phase. Your small UTC dial will also be 30 minutes out of phase with the digital UTC. Hope this helps.
