I have a Magnavox 2205 Combination DVD/DVR and I would like to change the the output channel from 3 to 4. I lost power at my house and the unit defaulted back to output channel 3. This unit, though inexpensive, has been working daily for my kids for years now, and I would like to keep it. I have misplaced my user's guide and there is no slide switch on the back as there used to be. It is older now, and I can't seem to find the user's guide online.
1: set tv to channel you want your vcr output to be on. 2: turn vcr on (if it is a vcr/dvd combo make sure it is on vcr) 3: put in video tape. 4: press play button one time, release it, and then press and hold it for three to five seconds. i had to call customer support to figure this out on mine.

All of a sudden when I change the TV to DVD mode it had a split screen, all the movies have the split screen too, almost like the screen has shifted to the left and there is a black line down the middle. It was fine one minute and then I went to manually hit the off botton on the DVD player and the screen split. Any idea what I hit and how to fix?
