If Wii not read discs, first step you need to check is to try another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide, that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. It also gives information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a kind of Wii Problems Reference Fix Guide

My game cube will read disks but after a while it skips and says disk read error

The Disc could not be read:
  1. Ensure the game is inserted correctly. With the power turned off on the system, replace the Game Disc in the system, printed side up. Press down gently on the Game Disc until it locks on the center hub. Close the Disc Cover and press the power button ON to see if the game comes on the screen.
  2. Determine if this happens with more than one game by inserting a different game into the system.
If the error occurs with all games, follow the Multiple Game Disc troubleshooting.
If the error occurs with only one game, follow the individual game disc troubleshooting
  1. Some games may need to be cleaned. Clean each disc with a soft, slightly damp cotton cloth (use water only). Clean them from center towards the edges; do not use a circular motion. DO NOT use paper. Once they are cleaned, dry the disc using a dry portion of the cloth and wiping in the same style as you did to clean the discs. After all of the water is gone, let the discs sit for at least two minutes to completely dry before inserting any of them into the Nintendo GameCube.
  2. Check for Unlicensed products. Make sure that you're using only licensed products with your Nintendo system. Unlicensed products are not tested for compatibilty and may not work correctly with all games. Try playing the game without the unlicensed accessory.
  3. Ensure the games are being loaded properly. With the power turned off on the system, replace a Game Disc (printed side up) in the system, press down gently on the Game Disc until it locks on the center hub. Close the Disc Cover and press the power button ON to see if the game comes on the screen. Try this with a few of your games.
If Troubleshooting doesn't fix the problem, and it is happening with all your games, then your system will need repair. Check out our convenient repair options.

It says no disc when there is

No Game Disc:
This error can occur when the Game Disc has been removed while the system is on and then the Disc Cover is closed. Follow these troubleshooting steps:
If the error occurs with only one game, follow the individual game disc troubleshooting I think that your gamecube needs to be repaird its reading laser is weak or is gone or the lens needs to be replaced too.

My wii is not reading the disc. I have done all of the troubleshooting according to the Manual. What do I do next?

Take a can of air and blow some into the drive to make sure no dust is on it. Then try another game, also try a movie and a music disc.

If its still not reading then the drive needs to be replaced.

Discs and games will not play, or even read, any solutions

Have you checked your game player for any dust. I mean, it could be because the lens of your game player is dusty and it is not able to read discs. That is the most obvious reason. Plus you need to check the discs on some other player or perhaps on your PC. Try to make sure that the discs are running on some other gadget or on your friend's PC or play station. You have not mentioned about your problem very well. I hope you try to resolve problem with my tip.

My ps3 wont read any disc game or blue ray dosent show icon

looks like the disc drive driver issue ... not recognizing the disc drive... remember that the playstation is a computer. When troubleshooting the Sony treat it as a computer. Might need to replace the disc drive.

Wii Won't read disk

easy fix
call nintendo. If its only one particular disc thats having the error, its the game. If it is more than one game, its the system. Call them and talk about troubleshooting and see if there is anything you have not tried.
