Whirlpool imperial spiral will not move

The central spiral that moves the clothes when the washer is operating does not move. It appears to have become discconnected with whatever drives it from the bottom of the washer. How do I remove this spiral so I can replace it?

There should be a plastic cap that covers the agitator. You will need a strong knife or a flat-head screw driver, to remove the cap. There you will find a nut, that holds the agitator in place. Once you remove the nut, the agitator should slide right out with a little force.

Check to see whether the laundry drum to the washer moves. If it does move, then the user interface needs replacing. If the drum is locked and will not move, you need to replace the central control unit on the washer.

The central piece doesn't move when the washer is working only in the spinning mode

Have someone help you look under the washer. Tilt it up and back and look underneath. Do you see one belt or two? Is it worn? If the motor and belt is good then transmission is bad. Call places with you make and model for an estimate. P.S. Have you noticed grease stain on your clothes after washing?

Washer depositing oily stains on clothing HELP

Best way is the old fashioned way. Purchase some soda chrystals and pop them in ur drw. The same amount as you would normally use in detergent powder. Then put the washer on the hottest setting and wash the machine out. Do not put any clothes in the washer at the same time though. This will clean the washer it may take a couple of attempts to clean but doing this once a month will keep on top of it.

Hope this helps

Machine going through the cycle but not moving at all. its making noise and the power light is on. checked the belt and its intact/in place. the pumps appear to be doing their jobs too. what could be up?...

There's definitely a problem with the drum motor. This is the washer's main motor that moves the drum and spins the clothes. Check the motor, check its circuits, check any fuses, and make sure all cables are plugged in. If none of that helps, you might want to have a pro look at it.

I have a whirlpool imperial dryer, I am not certain of the age or model number. I replaced the electrical cord after a move with a 4 wire instead of the 3 wire that was on it. The dryer operates it turns...

if it's heating up and the drum is spinning then you have a blocked vent line or the duct that the lint filter slides into is plugged with lint,if your vent line is long blow it out with a leaf blower, like i said you need to clean and vac out the duct that the filter slides into and vac out the inside of dryer where the motor is,you should do this once a year so you don't have a fire and your clothes will dry correctly

Maytag washing machine gets out of balance

Maytag uses an auto balancing mechanism, based on the rear legs. These legs should move freely. Lay the machine on its side, and try to move the rear legs. If they won't move and appear rusty, then spray penetrating oil on both legs and move them until they move freely.

Kenmore 70 washer, does not move from one cycle to another

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

This appears to be a timer / timer motor problem.

I'd also look at the Whirlpool / Kenmore direct drive installation and maintenance manual for testing the timer.

New Whirlpool Duet Washer(WFW9300VU02) F28 error

You can call whirlpool for service but the tech sheet f28 has a communication problem from you computer to the motor..

The communication between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and
the Motor Control Unit (MCU) cannot be sent correctly.

Possible Causes/Procedure
1. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
2. Check wire harness connections to the MCU, the motor, and
Central Control Unit (CCU).
Check connections of the CCU board within the housing.
Make sure all grounding switches are engaged.
3. Check the drive system for any worn or failed components.
4. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
5. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic Test or any
cycle.
6. Check the MCU by looking for operations of the drive motor.
7. Check the drive motor for powered rotations.
8. Check that the serial harness at the MCU is not mounted
upside down. The wires should be to the left when facing
the MCU connectors.

Replacing spin belt whirlpool clothes washer

There is no belt. This is a direct drive unit. There is a motor coupler located between the motor and the transmission.
