2 screws at the bottom of front panel if no screws there, then pry top off with wide flat screw driver then look inside toward top of front panel remove two more screws and the front should lift right out then remove screw/s in center of drum and lift out of cabinet there should be your heat element

My electric dryer runs but no heat.

Hello there:
There's no heat If your dryer doesn't heat, check these: Power from the house Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected. Heating element Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable. Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.) Wiring A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.
I will post the pictures of the heating element in a seperate post
Best regards mike

TAKES ALONG TIME TO DRY

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly.

You did not mention if the dryer was even warm to the touch during operation.

The generic service manual can be found here:

http://www.servicematters.com/maytag_library/docs/RS3200007R0.pdf

I would follow the troubleshooting process in step 9 of page 21.

To gain access to the unit you will need to remove the service access panel Pg 28 of manual

Gas burner circuits steps are on page 32

A little about heat control circuits. They are series circuits and any one of the following can prevent the dryer from heating.

1. Motor switch
2. heat control
3. cycle thermostat
4. high limit thermostat
5. thermistor
6. heating element

in addition to the above

For gas burners

1. Gas valve
2. Gas safety valve
3. Ignitor
4. Flame sensor

Most dryers have at least 5 of the 6 components listed in the first set of components above. The high limit thermostat is replaced by the thermistor in newer models. Thermistors are a one time fail item and if it has opened it must be replaced.

The warranty for this dryer is as follows:

1 year full coverage

Limited Warranty

After one year from the date of original retail purchase, Amana will provide a replacement part, f.o.b. Amana, Iowa, as listed below, for any part that fails due to a defect in materials or workmanship. The owner will be responsible for paying all other costs including labor, mileage, and transportation.

Second through Third Year
Amana will provide any part.

Third through Fifth Year
Amana will provide the drive motor or timer.

Third through Tenth Year
Amana will provide the cabinet assembly should the part rust through.

Lifetime
Amana will provide the Stainless Steel inner drum if so equipped.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Amana electric dryer will not heat/ LEA60AW Everything works fine but no heat...have cleaned all lint from inside the dryer by taking front panel off. What else should I check.... I noticed it wouild come...

Check for 220 Volt at the heater entrance to the heater box (accessible from picking up the top on most models). If you have 220v there the heater element is out. If you don't have 220v on the terminals of the heater the problem is in the controls. The fuse link, the timer contacts, the centrifugal switch on the motor, and the heater safety thermostat and operating (s), are all suspect and have to be eliminated 1 by 1. Hope this helps. With any luck all you need is a new element. Clean the duct out while replacing the heater if so because the main thing that causes heater element burn out is low air flow a kinked Dryer vent hose, lint, and plugged up fan on the motor are the 3 main causes of low air flow. If yours has little holes in the inside cabinet these can get clogged with lint also and cause a problem. Hope this helps and please rate me accordingly Thank you and good luck.

Amana electric dryer model LEA30Aw will not heat

The heating element measures 10 Ohms at 68 degrees farenheit. Usually if the element is bad, it will measure infinity.

Probably the heater element. You need to pull the back of teh machine off and check the heating element for continuity. If its open then its shot.
These are parts that normally go bad.
Check on ebay these can be had for less than 50.00

Accessing the heating element

I have a ALE643RB Amana dryer and believe the heating element has went out because the dryer will not heat anymore. I have taken the control panel off the top and all the screws out on the back and the bottom edge, but am still not able to get the shell off the dryer. How do you get to the heating element?
