I'm sorry mate, but you're going to have to provide a bit more information, if you want me to be able to help you.
Operating System? No audio from any program? The sound card driver?
How did you delete it?
What sound card are you using? Do you see any 'Unknown Devices' in Device Manager?
Are your speakers plugged into the Onboard sound or the sound card?
Have you checked Volume Control/Mixer?

Post some details, and I'll try to advise you as best I can..

Download a program called Belarc from and run it..

It should tell you the make and model of your soundcard..

Once you have that info, go to the manufacturers website and get the proper driver..

on the age of your system, there may not be an XP driver for it.. If
that is the case, try using the Win2K driver if there is one available

or if you have a onboard audio card please check your motherboard driver disk for the sound driver.

if you cant find it goto the manufacturers website to locate the
correct driver if you are unsure of the model of motherboard take you
side panel off your tower and it will show you in big letters what the
    make and model is.

or if you have had sound and nothing is happening please try the
windows update to see if they have any sound drivers available for your
motherboard suprisingly what they have in stock for drivers.

Good luck and hope that helps.

We have a picture but no sound on the laptop. Is it a case of the sound hardware been accidentally deleted from the laptop or has it just been turned off.

go to start>>control panel>>sound and audio devices
under the volume tab. see if you have a audio device install. if it is install, you should be abel to control the volum and make sure uncheck the mute button box.
if you don't see the aufio device, then you have to install the device.
go to control panel>>system>>device manger and see what type of audio device is listed.
if you can't fine it. check on manufacture web site to get the audio device and driver.

My audio driver got deleted, how do i get a nother one?

Most sound card manufacturers (such as Creative for Sound Blaster cards) have current drivers available on their website. You just need to know the manufacturer and model of your sound card (usually can find this in Control Panel, then Sounds and Audio Devices).
