Question about Casio Parts Cash Register PC Desktop

Our Sharp XE-A505 cash register will suddenly lose all data

I then have to upload the program, including the graphic logo again. At first we thought it was a static problem and thought about getting an anti-static mat, but now think it has something to do with the rechargeable batteries, but we have no idea how to get to them to change them and Sharp customer service didn't know either. The machine was charged for more than the time that was necessary before programming it originally and powers back up and takes the upload and works after uploading, so . We are in Williamsburg VA and there are no authorized Sharp dealers close by. This has happened 4 times now and becoming more frequent and I am afraid to put the machine back up so we are using an old machine to get by. We lose an entire day's work when this happens and have to re-create it from the journal tape. Any ideas?

It can be related to the backup battery, but I wouldn't have thought this model was old enough to need a new battery yet. Also, if you do not turn the mains power off (or turn the key to off at the register), and it still loses your programming, then it is not the battery since the battery is only needed to support the programming while the machine is turned off at the wall or at the key. If you want to be sure, then program it, leave it turned off at the wall overnight and try again in the morning. If it loses everything from being switched off, then you need to check the battery. It is internal, so you would need to take the top section off if you want to check it with a meter.

The other problem I've had is tiny cracks in the soldering on the main board inside. Usually the machine will blink on and off when closing the drawer sometimes if this is the problem.

On some models (if they have the two vertical note holders in the drawer), the wiring in the back of the drawer can get pinched by the tray when it clicks in to the latch. Check that the wires have not started to get squashed against the drawer latch mechanism.

Turn key to "PGM"
Press "7"
From the
LOGO DESC. PROGRAM screen, press "0" to display the PREAMBLE screen:
Using the alpha numeric keyboard overlay, type the first line of the message.
Each line (6 allowed) can be up to 32 characters, although only the last 19 characters you have entered will display. If you make a mistake, press the "BACKSPACE" key to erase the previous character. After you have completed typing the first line, press "ENTER"
to accept the new line and advance to the second line, or press
to return to the LOGO DESC. PROGRAM screen without making any changes.

I am not sure if I program clerk numbers yet, but I can not sign on my PCR-T470 I keep getting E008, and I tried 1 Clerk, 2 clerk, etc... and I get no where. Any suggestions?

That surgest you have no clerk numbers yet as the error E008 = Not signed on, working without a clerk number i have uploaded a manual for this on my host HERE i hope this helps

I want ONLY to clear buffer of TE-2200 without chaning anything else [i.e. logo, dept. key...] many thanks

unplug with key in program and press receipt feed while reconnecting power. should get all f's in display. then subtotal will clear the buffer only.

Cash Register wont calculate change

It is possible that you did not exit properly from the programming mode , try to restart again

Stop printing logo on receipt

Go to programing mode and select Logo then select OFF
