First try to reinstall the sound software. If that doesn't not work and you have the volume at the maxium within the software on you computer. Conside buying a external soundcard like SoundBlaster, turn the "onboard" sound off and use the new sound.

My VLC media player was uninstalled by mistake... then i installed windows media player 12 and VLC media player throught internet n now m not able to hear any sound from my speakers..... plz...

Open both the player and see the volume control of each. In any of the software the volume may be very low or muted. Check sound card volume levels also. VLC manipulates sound card's volume control directly.

Sound output is low nowadays even at full volume whereas before it was ok. I didn't change anything with my computer nor did I change my speakers.

Two possible causes.1) Vol Settings changed in windows2) Bad hardware
1) Check your system's sound settings:

For Xp
  • Goto Control Panel
  • Double Click Sound and Audio devices / Sound, Speech, and Audio Devices
  • In device Volume Click Advance
  • Master Volume Control Window will open
  • Increase all the volumes to max, also make sure that Mute us UNCHECKED.

OR
  • From the bottom right corner of your screen in system tray, double click a small speaker icon and open Master Volume Control.

For Vista and Windows 7
  • From system tray (its at bottom right corner of your screen) double click on small speaker icon, it will open Volume mixer
  • Increase the volume to max.

2) If this does not work, then test your speakers by connecting it to some other system and vice versa.
If you get desired sound volume when you connect some other speakers to your system, then you have to change your speakers. And if your speakers are working fine on other system then you may have to purchase a new sound card.

Have in built sound card in D845HV mother board. Experiencing heavy distortion as soon as the mic is connected. It was working well till last month.

Distorted or scratchy sound can be caused by several problems. Improving the sound can be as simple as rearranging your hardware components. The following suggestions may resolve the problem of scratchy sound:
  • Are there any other devices around the speakers or wires for the speakers? Electro-magnetic interference can cause poor audio. Try moving your speakers and wires around and away from other devices.
  • Have you recently added any new cards to your computer? Cards within the computer can also cause electro-magnetic interference. Try moving the card to another location within the computer, if possible.
  • Verify that you are not encountering a hardware issue with the speakers you have by trying another pair of computer speakers.
  • Poor audio quality or low volumes may occur if you are using passive (non-amplified) speakers.
  • Are your speakers too close to your monitor? The speakers can pick up electrical noise from your monitor so move them farther away. Subwoofers should never be placed near the monitor because their powerful magnets can interfere with the picture. They should be on the floor to maximize low-frequency transmission.
  • Are you experiencing sound problems only with particular games or programs? If you notice sound problems such as stuttering voices and static on some games or programs but not others, check with the software vendor for a software patch.

Also make sure to inspect your microphone, and the cord that connects it to your PC, for physical damage.

If you're still experiencing issues, you may need to replace the your microphone.

I hope this helps.

No sound form aspire 6935g subwoofer

You may want to check the speaker settings themselves within the control panel (Sound Audio Devices + hit the Advanced button under speaker settings). Chances are the current setting is for stereo desktop speakers, you should change it to settings that more closely match your hardware setup...

Post your results here.
