Next steps The automatic fix could not be applied because we only support the 32-bit versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista (it is possible that your operating system is either a Windows 64-bit system or is a non-Windows system). Please see Other Options below for additional troubleshooting steps you can take to solve this problem.

I've just tried this for the first time and get the same problem. I'm using IE7 (32 bit) on Vista 64bit. Print works, but not clip.

Hi,

I would like you use HP Smart Web Printing utility which will resolve this issue. With this fast, free download, this enhancement to Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox improves upon IE and Firefox ability to print what you see on the web page. HP Smart Web Printing allows users to:
  • Select text and graphics easily from any web site and save a handy list of clips
  • Save paper by combining portions of numerous web pages
  • Preview and modify clips before printing
  • In addition, HP Smart Web Printing automatically fixes right-edge clipping, eliminating wasteful prints containing clipped pages or sparse lines of useless text (IE 6.0 only).

    Hi,
    here is solution..
Solution Step one: Make sure that the product prints correctly
    1. Print a self-test page from the product control panel, from Windows, or from the product software. (See the product user guide, available online, for instructions to print a self-test page.)
    2. Check to make sure that black and all colors (if using a color product) print on the self-test page.
      • If the self-test page does not print correctly, an issue might exist with the product hardware. See the product user guide, available online, for further troubleshooting steps.
      • If the self-test page prints correctly, continue with the next step.
Step two: Determine what portion of the page is set to print Many Web pages use frames. Frames divide the screen into multiple windows. Follow these steps to determine what portion of the page is set to print.
    1. Click the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop. The Internet Explorer window opens.
    2. On the File menu, click Print . The Print dialog box opens.
    3. Click the Options tab to view the print settings.
    4. Change the settings if required, and then click Print .
Step three: Change the Encoding setting in the Web browser
    1. Click the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop. The Internet Explorer window opens.
    2. On the Menu bar, click View .
    3. Click Encoding to view a list of encoding options.
    4. Check the Encoding settings.
      • If Auto Select has a check mark next to it, click to clear the check box.
      • If Western European Windows does not have a check mark next to it, select it.
Try printing again. If the issue continues, proceed to the next step. Step four: Check the page setup settings for the Web browser Web pages are designed to be viewed at a certain screen resolution. If the resolution of the screen is lower than the resolution of the Web page, the whole screen might not display or might not be printed.
    1. Make sure that Internet Explorer is open.
    2. On the File menu, click Page Setup . The Page Setup dialog box opens.
    3. Review the Margins information.
    4. Make sure that the margin settings are greater than or equal to the minimum printable region margins for the product. The margins vary slightly among HP All-in-One products. As a general rule, the settings should be at least the values shown in the following table. Side Margin Top Margin Bottom Margin 6.3 mm (0.25 inch) 6.3 mm (0.25 inch) 6.3 mm (0.25 inch)
    5. Make necessary changes to the margin settings.
    6. Click OK to save the changes.
Try printing again. If the issue continues, proceed to the next step. Step five: Print using Smart Web printing software HP Smart Web Printing is fast, free, downloadable software that enhances how Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox print Web pages. Use HP Smart Web Printing for the following tasks:
    • Select text and graphics from any Web site
    • Save paper by combining portions of numerous Web pages
    • Preview and modify clips before printing
    Thank you.......

Problem with HP Smart Web Printing

I removed my HP Smart Select add-on when I suspected that it was the cause of my IE freezing up. When I reinstalled it, I had the same problem as you (no arrow for the drop down). Then, I went back to Tools>Manage Add-ons>Enable or Disable Add-ons, and I enabled "Send to One Note" and that fixed the problem.
