My grandson has a mini racer which he loves. He apparently ran it through a puddle of water and now the motor does not run but the lights still go on. Can this be repaired?

try seeking assistance from hobbyist stores that sells parts for mini RC cars, they often sell gears to help upgrade their RC cars, you might find a gear that fits your needs.
You can go online at funcreation.net type in mini racer, red and click on the owners manual or you can see all the parts below the image and order the part you think might need repair.
I purchased a bulk lot of racers at a recent auction that included 3 mini racers but discovered after I had bought them that none of them had batteries so I'm thinking I may try to sell them minus the batteries to people who need parts.
