You won't find a driver for your Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-C2302 because Windows automatically supports it. What you probably need is software which includes DVD codecs.

Here are some commercial ones:

You may be able to find some free DVD player software as well. But I have never tried any of them. Some of the commercials one are free to try. So you should be all set.

Dvd rom will not work

This is normally caused by missing or corrupt drivers for your CD drive. Again if the CD drive is not properly connected to the motherboard of your laptop, this can also happen

1. Try to restart the laptop and observe the results. Make sure there is no CD in the CD drive.
2. If you still have the same result, go to "my computer" and check whether the CD ROM
appears on the list of devices. If it appears then, right click on it and try to eject.
By doing this you want to check whether the CD tray is still mobile and not blocked
by anything else.
3.Then right-click on it again and go to its properties and go to the "Hardware" tab
4. In the Hardware tab, notice the list of drives connected to your laptop and choose the Cd Rom and go to "Properties"
5. Notice at this point, whether the device is said to be working properly or there is something wrong with it.
6. Then go to the "Driver" Tab, and choose "update driver"
6. This will let your system look for the missing or corrupt drivers for your CD drive.
Restart your computer and observe the results

u will have to go to your setup screen and reorder your boot screen so your cd rom will boot first so you can install windows 98, but if your cd rom isn't working you need to go to your device manager and look for your cd rom and install the driver

CD ROM won't play

Check the Hardare manager is there any question mark at the icons of the CD drive? If the auto play does'nt work then the CD-rom is not reading the CD, either the CD format is different or the CD-rom lens is faulty. Note: don't remove Hardware when PC is running, you might cause damage to your Hardware devices.

CD-rom driver is missing on my Toshiba laptop

Go to Control Panel >System>Hardware >Device Manager.
Click on the + sign and see if the cd/dvd drive is listed. Does it have a yellow or red mark?
If it does, right click it and select un-install. Then restart the computer.

While you are in the Device manager, click the + sign next to "IDE ATA/Atapi controllers"
Check and see if there is a red x or yellow exclamation sign on it. If there is right click and select un-install, then re-boot.

If that does not fix it, update your anti-virus and run a scan in Safe Mode.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

IBM 600e thinkpad

You are apparently missing the correct drivers.

Download this software to find who manufactured the drive:

http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

The program will investigate your system and give you detailed (4-5 pages) of information about every corner of your computer and much of its software.

This will enable you to go to the correct website without guessing.
