start computer, right click on empty spot on desktop, choose screen resolution, left click and choose landscape on resulting screen, then click on flipped screen. Should go back to normal. This usually happens when you accidentally press alt ctrl arrow key.
Right click on the desktop look for graphics options in the popup menu click that and it should bring up an options window One of the tabs should say rotation click it and select the setting u desire.
You can probably get to this options window through the control panel. Look for video device or graphics not display.
Another option to try hit ctl alt and the up arrow all at once.
Right click on the desktop away from the icons. Scroll down untill you see something like ati or Nvidia control panel. Select that and look in the left hand side for either screen orientation or screen rotation. Choose 0 degrees or landscape.
You can also get to these settings through the control panel > display settings > Screen Orientation > Landscape.
Sounds like the power jack is loose if you have to hold it in a certain position. As for the screen your inverter might be shot. Try connecting an external monitor to your laptop and see if you get a display.
