I'm having the same problem with a brand new product. The eraser acts as the stylus of the pen and the pen or buttons do not work at all. I've tried a lot of variables so far with no luck. I'm on mac os x 10.5.6.

I've tried all the different drivers available and none seem to allow the pen to work. Is this a faulty pen out of the box? or is there something else I would need to set up that is outside of the system preferences tablet pane?

Same **** here. Front of the pen (pen and buttons) stopped responding. Only eraser works. Nothing ordinary helps. Have latest drivers, Windows XP.

Same here. Only mine isn't new. I've had this tablet for months now, and I transfer it from home and school often, and I just brought it home and the problem started. I'm getting extremely irritated. Today in school there was a power outage, and I was using the tablet at the time...could that have something to do with it?

I have dropped my pen many times, had it for about 15 months now, and since the last time it dropped it stopped working. I can work with the eraser side in other applications but the problem is Photoshop - I need to draw!!! I just took my pen apart - pushed the broken bit together and gave it a test! Yah, it's working! now I'm gonna add the glue. Do follow this site and FIRST read what to do BEFORE doing it.http://wishidknownthat.blogspot.com/2009...

Bamboo pen & touch CTH 460 works a while but later it doesn't work anymore that I have to pull out from the USB port and put it again for how many seconds it works again. This problem keeps on coming back. Can you please me solved this annoying problem when I'm working. Thank you very much for your support.

I think you dropped the pen on its tip and broke the little ferrite sensing core.  You can try to repair it by gluing the core back together - it worked for me.  For detailed instructions on how to do it, go here: http://wishidknownthat.blogspot.com/2009/04/fixing-wacom-bamboo-pen.html  or you can try to swap the core for the eraser and the tip (more involved - you would need to be very good with a soldering iron to attempt this).  Either way - it's unfortunate that the pen is so fragile and that the user manual doesn't really warn you of this.
Good luck!

That happened to me yesterday. What I did was I went to the wacom site here: http://www.wacom.com/downloads/drivers.php, selected my tablet make and operating system, and downloaded the driver update. I installed it and as soon as it was done my pen started working again. Hopefully this works for you too!

Zoom ring on Wacom Bamboo Fun won't zoom PSE

Are you using your finger or the pen. I know that I was confused at first that it works only with your finger.

Otherwise unplug the usb table and close PSE and then replugin the tablet then restart the software. This will help fix problems with the eraser too.

Bamboo Fun won't work w/ provided software

Hello,

I had the same problem when I got my laptop (Vista OS). The solution is to update the new driver for your bamboo. They are out of date so you need to go here: http://www.wacom.com/downloads/driver-detail.php?id=196 Updated @ Apr. 9, 2009

This update should allow Vista to find it.
