I change the ring tone to one of my choice and its fine until i turn the phone off it then returns to the default ring tone, i have also switched the slide lock on and it changes back to off after it's switched off.
My daughter has the same phone she had no problems (she's 21 her Phone is never off ) but when she tried switching it off she has the same problem.
I have chacked for undates on the nokia web sit (none available) so I reinstalled the software still got the problem.

I had the same problem with mine. when I would go to tone settings every time I tried to hit ring tone it would turn off the phone and restart, by the way in ring tone it was blank. No matter what I did it wouldn't work. So I went to settings then restore factory settings entered the code. It reset the factory settings, then when I went back to tone settings the ring tone said Nokia Tune so I hit enter and it gave a list of all other ring tones, then it worked so my phone finally rings.... Hope it works for you.

You can change the Alert type by going to Tone setup: Select Menu > Settings > Tone Here you will have the option of changing the ring type. you can select Ring only or Ring and Vibrate or any other available options as per your choice.

HI Qrasengan, 1) Open the menu, and go to profiles. 2) Enter the general option, and click on personalise. 3) after that, several option appears. 4) some of them are ringing tone, ringing type, ringing volume, message alert tone, vibrating alert, etc. 5) Go to message alert tone and change the tone u want to listen when message is received. NOte :Only wav or midi formats are accepted as ringing tone. MP3s are not accepted as ringing tones in NOKIA 6600. U need to install a software "mp3 as ringing tone" or "mp2wmaogg.codec" to make mp3 as ringing tone. =============================================== If u want that software, send me feedback or reply. And I will deliver u as email in ur email id. Sajan(firstname.lastname@example.org)
- When you go to the Menu, you must see Profiles
- Select any profile, for instance, General and select Personalize
- You would get an option to change ringtones
- You can push the power button once to select profiles
Also, if you have songs copied to your phone memory, you always have the option to set that song as your ringtone.
