Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer

Whirlpool Duet front load washing machine

My Whirlpool Duet front load washing machine won't begin the spin cycle. I have tried just "spin" and it won't get to that point. There is no water in the cylinder and it turns, just won't get to spin. Prior to this, it flashed "H" and "F".

I have checked almost everything. Weird thing is - it will run normally with a cold-cold cycle. It won't do anything with hot or warm. When I run the diagnostics, it stops at C:03. So I think I'm narrowing it down. We've had the front open and a heater on it for four hours. Still nothing. Any additional help?

The following link explains the "FH" error code:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r615354-fh_error_code_whirlpool_duet_kenmore

This is one of the more "involved" error codes that has many possibilities for the cause. I would start with the simple things, first, in an attempt to rule out easy the possibilities. Check your fill hoses to ensure they are not kinked or clogged, followed by verifying your installation to ensure you don't have a siphoning problem, Then, check the drain pump for operation. Read through the link thoroughly andlet me know if you have questions. I hope this helps you.

C:03 is the segment in diagnostics that tests your HOT water fill portion on the water inlet valve. It sounds like your water inlet valve is bad and requires replacement. That would explain the "low water detect" error code you are getting. I would recommend replacing the fill valve.

Replacements can be ordered on line at searspartsdirect.com, appliancepartspros.com, or repairclinic.com. Just type in your model number and look uner the "Dispenser" heading. The part number is 8181694.

The valve can be easily replaced by performing the following checks:

    1. UNPLUG the washer before servicing.

    2. Turn off the water source and disconnect the fill hoses from the back of the washer.

    3. Remove the washer top panel by removing the three screws that hold the top panel in place in the rear. With the three screws removed, the panel will slide back, then off.

    4. The inlet valve is located in the left rear of the washer (as viewed from the front). Disconnect the dispenser hose from the valve and the electric connectors.

    5. Remove the mounting screw(s).

    6. Install new valve in the reverse order of the steps I just provided you.

Even though you do not normally use a hot water setting, the Central Control Unit (CCU) monitors all sensors within the washer. If a faulty sensor is detected, it will generate an error code. With an error code present, the washer will not operate.

If you have questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

My whirlpool steam duet washer won't pour water in the wash cycle

There is no output from the control panel to switch on the inlet valve, so check the inlet valve at this time of the cycle. Also check the water level pressure sensor switch.
Choose another program to confirm if not the controller seems to be suspect.

Won't finish the final spin

Hi there,

When the cycle doesn't advance, it's probably the timer or a cold-water supply problem:

It's the timer, if your washing machine fills with water and begins agitating, but the timer never advances--or if the washer is in a spin cycle and the timer won't advance. Then you need to replace the timer.

It may be a cold-water supply problem, if the washing machine fills with water, agitates, drains, and spins, but then doesn't fill with rinse water. See There's no cold water.

Post further comments for more information ....

Good Luck!!

Thanks
