SOURCE: GE evolution dryer has intermitent squeeling!

Is the belt slipping? Check and see if it is worn. Open door, remove 2-4 screws at 12:00 position, lift up cover. The belt is the little band wrapped around the big thing.

Not all dryers are the same but I have a few pictures Here
From what you describe I am guessing you have a Electrolux dryer.
I suspect the center bearing has failed.themobilian_2687.jpg
Some GE dryers have the same feature

belt is stretched from a worn bearing in the belts idler pulley

Replace the belt along with the pulley sold at most Sears stores

DRYER SQUEAKS DRYER HAS A HIGH PITCH SQUEEL WHEN TURNING

That is caused by lack of lubrication of the REAR bearing for the drum. It will have to be removed and grease will need to be added. If the machine is run without this, a new bearing will have to be purchased. If the squeeling just started, the bearing is ok - you just have to get the job done very soon. While in there, they should clean the lint out. They should also lube the idler pulley for the belt. The idler pulley is often forgotten, and this item should be lubed every time the machine is serviced. Good luck.

Dryer makes noise when i put clothes in. rubbing squeeky noise

Hello there
the dryer drum rests on rollers that keep it aglinged and straight
if one of these rollers start to wear out this will make the dryer drum misalign which in turn will make the dryer squeel also if the belt is starting to wear this will make it make noises too so i would suggest first opening up the back ofthe dryer and looking at the rollers and seeing if their is any wear from the belt or the rollers and if they are in need of replace ment replace the worn out part ok
Best regards richard

Dryer makes scrapping and squeaking noise

The front drum support has wore out. Reach your hand in the tub and puch up on it. If it moves up and down a lot the support is wore. Buy a new support and front slides and it will stop squeeling.
