How to connect Hitachi camcoder with laptop

Connecting to PC via PC Connection Cable
Use the provided PC connection cable to connect the DVD video camera/recorder to PC as shown in the last.

Note:
• No data can be written to the HDD, disc or SD memory card in this DVD video camera/recorder when it is connected to PC.
• The PC connection cable does not supply power to the DVD video camera/recorder: Use the AC adapter/charger
to power the DVD video camera/recorder.
• Before connecting the DVD video camera/recorder to PC, disconnect any cables or camera accessories (external
video flash, external microphone, etc.) other than the PC connection cable and AC adapter/charger.
• When connecting the DVD video camera/recorder to PC, the ACCESS/PC indicator will light green. While HDD or

I cannot record, in the corner where it says record, standby, it flashes the number C:31:40 I have a new TDK Hi 8 120 and it keeps flashing. Please help, thank cptaylor2000@yahoo.com

when problem occur while cam is operating, the self-diagnosis function starts working, and may display the service mode display code. in your case, C:31:40, pertains to a part of the cam tape compartment mechanism called the drum that doesn't start up. issues could prevent you from recording, playing back tapes, rewinding or fas forwarding. t/s steps are: try diff tapes esp. w/prev recordings, reset cam (press reset button while cam is on, located just below the menu button, in the panel where the lcd screen goes to), power reset (remove batt and ac adapter and leave cam w/ any power source for at least a minute). if issue persists, unit will require repair. hope this helps.tnx:)

When I turned on the camcorder, there is no visual(the screen is black)

your camcorder unit uses a lens cap as a cover.so basically when you turn it on it should be ready to take the video right away. i am sure your able to see the display indicators and access the menu settings. if get a black screen and viewfinder when recording, and can record audio and playback previous tapes you've recorded then that would mean your cam has an problem with the imaging sensor. you can try to press the reset button (located near the left side of the battery and display buttons) while cam is on. or do power reset by turning cam off and removing the battery and ac adapter (do this for at least a minute). if your still having this problem, unit will require repair (but if you don't want to replacement would be another option).

My Sony Handycam DCR-HC26 started giving me C:31:23 error ''Reinsert the cassette'' when I try to record on a new Sony tape. I am however able play back a previously recorded Sony tape.

the error c:31:23 error pertains to one of the reel (part that turns the tape) is malfunctioning. although you can play back videos, you would definitely have issue w/ recording, rewinding or fast forwarding the tape.what you can do is to turn the camcorder off.remove the battery and ac adapter for at least a minute.insert the battery or reconnect the adapter.you can also try pressing the reset button (located near the top of the speaker, on the panel where lcd screen goes to).make sure cam is on when you do that.if still your getting this problem, service would be needed for your cam.hope this helps :)

LCD video camera to vcr

Hello!
You need an A/V cable (audio-video).
That is a bundle of three RCA male-male cables and they are marked with yellow (video) white (Left audio) and red (Right audio) for easy identifiying.
Connect either to the front or back of the VCR, make sure you have the right input selected.
If you have your TV on and on the video channel you should see the movie from the camera when playing it.
If you can see it then just record.

To record your VHS tapes to a computer you need either a TV-card or a digital videocam with a firewire connection.

If you have a TV card (affordable nowadays) or video capture card you can connect your old videocam directly to your pc using a S-video cable or the analog A/V cable described above.

Firewire PCI cards that is compatible with any desktop PC are not expensive these days. (if you dont allready have a built-in connection.)
You will also need a "4-6" firewire cable (also called DV-firewire cable)
Connect the old cam to the DV cam using one of the above cables.
Connect the DV cam to the PC using the firewire cable.(You may have to set the DV cam to a "record from external source" -mode)

You will also need software to record the signal to your harddrive, there is a lot of freeware programs you can download on the internet.
If you use windows you can use the "windows movie maker" software.

Good luck.
