I cannot send new e-mails nor access the list of contacts. When I click on the To box, the site "freezes", and nothing works. The loading symbol in the right hand upper corner stalls.  Thank you for any help you can give me. Karen S

Please delete and clear all junk files and folder from your system.

To do this..

Go to Start --> Run --> Prefetch

Then delete all files present there..

Next in the Run box type --> %temp%

Delete the files and skip if some not deleted..

Also clear all browsing data from your Web Browser and then empty recyle bin.

Now try opening email.. and let me know the status.

If another account comes up, sign out of it by clicking the avatar in the upper-right then clicking "Sign out."

Xerox WC 3220 scan to e-mail problem with external smtp server(ISP). I am trying to configure the scanner to send mail. I follow up the instructions in the manual. When I try to test it I got smtp error ...


You can always find answers to your Xerox questions at www.xerox.com/support .

The 3220 does NOT support SSL, please verify if your email service is requiring SSL transmission. (Port 445 or 587 are indicators of SSL email requirements.) There are free email providers that will still send on port 25 without SSL. Xerox does not provide a list however so you will need to research these yourself.

Instructions for setup scan to email below:
Configure the Machine for Scan to E-mail
IMPORTANT: Obtain the following information from your e-mail service provider before configuring the machine for Scan to E-Mail.
  1. What is the host name or IP address of the SMTP server?
  2. What port number does that SMTP server require?
  3. Does the server require authentication login? If so, what format does the server expect the login? (Does the server require the full e-mail address or just the part before the @ sign?)
  4. Does the e-mail server require POP3 before SMTP authentication? If so, obtain the POP3 settings (POP3 host name or IP address, port number, and login name/password).
  5. Does the server require SSL or TLS encryption? If so, ask your e-mail provider to provide you with an e-mail server that does not use SSL or TLS encryption as the printer does not support SSL/TLS encryption for e-mail authentication.

    NOTES:
    • If you are provided with a new e-mail server to use, questions 1 - 7 will need to be answered again.
    • Xerox does not provide a list of e-mail providers that do not require SSL/TLS encryption for e-mail authentication.
    • If unable to find an e-mail service that does not require SSL or TLS encryption, See theRelated Items below for information on how to Install the Network Scan program for a Windows OS or how to Install the USB Scan Driver for a Macintosh OS. Once the scanned file is stored on your computer, it can then be e-mailed from your computer as an attached item/file in a new e-mail.
  6. What is the attachment size limit on the account on that server?
  7. What 'From' address will the printer use for Scan to E-mail? The From address should be a valid e-mail address for the e-mail server that the printer will use. Ask the e-mail provider if authentication is required if the login name (above) is allowed to be used for the From address the printer will use.

    If you do not know the answer to the questions above, contact the people that control the e-mail server you want the machine to use for Scan to E-mail. The following parties can provide you with additional assistance:
    • If the e-mail server is inside your company's network, contact the E-mail Server Administrator to obtain the required settings.
    • If the e-mail server is outside your company, contact the Technical Support for that e-mail service to obtain the required settings. This may be your Internet Service Provider (ISP), or a 3rd party E-mail Service Provider.
Configure the Machine's E-mail Settings Using CentreWare Internet Services (CWIS)
After you have obtained the above information, configure the machine's e-mail settings using CWIS.
  1. Access CWIS. See the Related Items below for additional information.
  2. Click on the [Properties] link.
  3. In the Properties section on the left side of the window, click on the [+] symbol next to theProtocols folder to expand the list of options.
  4. Click on the [SMTP Server] link.
  5. Click on the [IP Address] or [Host Name] radio button.
  6. Enter the IP address or domain (host) name of the SMTP (e-mail) server in the field provided.

    NOTE: If you use an IP address for the SMTP server, verify that the IP address for the server will not change. If the SMTP's server IP address changes, the machine will be unable to Scan to E-mail until the machine's SMTP Server address entry is edited with the new SMTP server IP address. If necessary, contact your E-mail Administrator to verify how the IP address has been assigned to the SMTP server.

    NOTE: If using the domain (host) name, make sure DNS is enabled on the machine. By default, DNS is disabled. To enable and configure DNS settings, click on the Properties tab, click on the TCP/IP link under the Protocols folder, enter the required DNS settings for your network in the DNS/DDNS field, and then click on [Save Changes]. Contact your Network Administrator to obtain the correct DNS settings.
  7. Enter the port number used by the e-mail server, from 1 to 65535, in the field provided. The default port number is 25. If you use an IP address for the SMTP server, verify that the IP address for the server will not change.

    NOTE: If you use an IP address for the SMTP server, verify that the IP address for the server will not change. If the SMTP's server IP address changes, the machine will be unable to Scan to E-mail until the machine's SMTP Server address entry is edited with the new SMTP server IP address. If necessary, contact your E-mail Administrator to verify how the IP address has been assigned to the SMTP server.
  8. If authentication is required, insert a check mark in the SMTP Requires Authentication check box.
  9. In the SMTP Server Login Name field, enter the SMTP login name.
  10. In the SMTP Server Password field, enter the SMTP password and then retype the same password in the Verify Password field.
  11. If the E-mail server requires POP3 before SMTP authentication, continue with step 13. Otherwise skip to step 17.
  12. If POP3 before SMTP authentication is required, insert a check mark in the SMTP requires POP3 Before SMTP Authentication check box.
  13. In the POP3 Server and Port field, enter the IP address or domain (host) name of the SMTP (e-mail) server and the port number. The default port number is 110.
  14. In the POP3 Server Login Name field, enter the POP3 login name.
  15. In the POP3 Server Password enter the POP3 password and then retype the same password in the Verify Password field.
  16. Click on the [Save Changes] button.
  17. In the Properties section on the left side of the window, click on the [+] symbol next to the E-mailfolder to expand the list of options.
  18. Click on the [E-mail] link.
  19. Click on the [E-mail Setup] link.
  20. In the Default [From:] Address field, enter the from E-mail address that the printer will use for sending E-mail.

    NOTE: If you do not want the from address that the printer will use to send E-mail to be automatically copied on any E-mail that is sent from the printer, make sure that the check box next to Always prompt for file format setup before scanning is not checked. Additionally, the following default settings can be set for Scan to E-mail:
    • Default Original Type - Available options are: Text, Text/Photo, and Photo
    • Default Scan Resolution - Available options are: 100 dpi, 200 dpi, and 300 dpi
    • Default Attachment Type - Available options are: PDF, TIFF - Multi Page, and TIFF - Single Page
    • Default Scan Color - Available options are: Mono, Gray, and Color
    • File Format Setup Prompt - Leave this box unchecked if you do not want to be prompted for the file format each time you Scan to E-mail.
    • Conformation Sheet - Available options are: On Errors Only, Always, and Off
  21. Click on the [Save Changes] button.NOTE: See the Related Items below for information on how to Scan to E-mail. When Scan to E-mail is successful, it is recommended to print a copy of the SMTP Server settings and E-mail Setup settings from CWIS for your records. If Scan to E-mail fails in the future, refer to these settings.
Configure Additional E-mail Security Settings (Optional)
For additional security when sending e-mails, the machine can be configured to require the sender to be authorized prior to using the machine's Scan to E-mail service. This is an optional security feature for Scan to E-mail and is disabled by default.
Authorized users for Scan to E-mail can be configured using CWIS. Up to 2,000 users can be registered.
  1. Access CWIS. See the Related Items below for additional information.
  2. Click on the [Properties] link.
  3. In the Properties section on the left side of the window, click on the [+] symbol next to the E-mailfolder to expand the list of options.
  4. Click on the [User Authentication] link.
  5. Insert a check mark in the Enable Auth User check box to enable user authentication.
  6. If necessary, insert a check mark in the Enable Guest Account check box to allow guest access. If this option is enabled, enter a login name and password for the guest account in the fields provided.
  7. Click on the [Add] button to add new accounts.
  8. Enter a username, an authentication ID, a password and an e-mail address in the fields provided.
  9. Click on the [Save Changes] button. The user will be added to the User Authentication List.

I have changed my email address ...how do i notify you..??


On any FixYa page, click your username in the upper right corner, click "My Profile," click the "My Account" tab, change the entry in the "Email Address" field, then click the "Save My Information" button.

Cannot bring up my contact list on bcc forwarding e-mails. I have to put each name in individually. I do not like this new yahoo mail and am considering other options. Cannot find a tech support phone...


If you're using Classic Mail:
> Click on Forward or New.
> THEN Click directly on the word TO and your mailing list (address book) opens.
> Check the box (To or CC or BCC) by each name you want to send to, and then click the "insert checked contacts" tab.

IF you're using the New Yahoo Mail.
First of all you have to click the link that says "show bcc", (which enables the BCC line.)
> Click on "Forward" or "Compose".
> Then click directly on the word BCC--(or To or CC--whichever line you want the addresses inserted on). That will also open your mailing list.
> Click on ONE contact FIRST----and THEN press and hold the "ctrl" key, while clicking on the others you want to send to.
> Click OK.

In either case---the addresses will be inserted on the address line for you.

IF YOU ARE USING THE NEWER VERSION YAHOO MAIL THEN YOU CAN REVERT BACK TO CLASSIC MAIL.
On top left side of mail page
click MAIL CLASSIC beside sign out and my account
or
on the top right side of mail page
click options
then click switch to yahoo classic

I can't find my Yahoo address book. I want to send a message to everyone in my book.


The address book is actually called "Contacts" in Yahoo Mail. In New Yahoo Mail it is a tab at the top (in older versions it can be access from the left column, above Folders). Check the box at the top of the Contact list to "Select All," and then you can send a message to all addresses in your Contact List.

Since upgrading yahoo 7 mail I have not been able to send emails as the box won't open and even when I try to read new mail or get my contact list up it doesn't seem to happen


New version of Yahoo has many issues at this time. They hope to have it fixed soon. In the meantime, try switching from one Yahoo version to another. Or shift to the Yahoo Mail Classic version (the old interface) which loads faster and works on all web browsers.
You also want to check yahoo mail using a different web browser program (Mozilla, Chrome). Or check your internet connection speed and firewall access limitations.

White cloudy screen-only when I access my mail. I have tried several of your solutions but nothing works. I can do anything else under the sun, but I want to send and receive email!


Mozilla Firefox has the ability to block content and images from web sites. If you're seeing a white screen when visiting Yahoo! Mail, or clicking the "Save to My Web" button or other toolbar buttons , you have either accidentally or intentionally blocked images and/or content from yahoo.com. Check your Mozilla Firefox and Extension options to make sure you haven't blocked yahoo.com or accidentally blocked images, iframes, etc. via a wildcard.
If you have AdBlocker installed,
  1. Click AdBlock under the Tools menu.
  2. Click Preferences.
  3. Remove any entries from the blocked sites list that contain "yahoo.com" or "yimg.com".
  4. Click Done.
If you don't have AdBlock installed, check your Firefox options:
  1. Click Options under the Tools menu.
  2. Click Web Features.
  3. Click Exceptions next to Load images.
  4. Remove any sites listed that contain "yahoo.com" or "yimg.com".
If you still don't see the Download button, either your user profile is corrupt or you have another extension installed that is blocking images from Yahoo! Please a new profile or try running Firefox in Safe Mode. In addition, see the Mozilla Firefox FAQ link under More Help.

Hey welcome to fixya. I hope u 'll be fine.
  • Open your yahoo mail account and go in Contacts there
  • create a contact list there and add all the contactsin this contact list u want to send messages at a time.
  • Now go in create new mail and type your message and in sender's adress just put this contact list and send the mail
  • The mail 'll send to all the contacts which 'll be in this contact list

My yahoo ID can't sending mail


  1. Click Options in the upper-right corner of the page and select Mail Options.
  2. Under “Management”, click Mail Addresses.
  3. Click Add.
  4. In the box, enter an account name for your own reference (for example, Work or School) …and click Continue.
  5. There would be two boxes: In the first one, put the name you’d like others to see when they get email from this address. In the second one, type the Email address you’d like send from – from within Yahoo! Mail! (You’ll be asked to verify this other address in an email we will send to you there.) Click Continue.
  6. Do you want to be able to check email in this account from your Yahoo! account as well? (You can check your mail in clients like Outlook and Eudora, but currently you won’t be able to check mail in other webmail accounts with providers like Hotmail, Gmail or Yahoo. You can send from these other addresses from within Yahoo! Mail.)
    1. If yes, (you want to check mail in your Outlook or Eudora or similar client), skip to step 9.
    2. If no, you don't want to check mail in this account, you just want to be able to SEND from it from inside your Yahoo! account. Click Skip this Step at the bottom of the Add Account page and continue to step 7.
  7. On the page that opens, check to make sure you’ve entered the correct email address. If you need to make any changes, click Edit Address. If it looks fine, click Send Verification to generate the email we send to you to make sure this is an actual account you use.
  8. The “Verify Account” page opens. Here’s the easiest way to complete your setup and start sending mail from the new address:
    1. Leave this "Verify Account" page open.
    2. In a different browser window or application, sign into your other Mail account.
    3. Look for an email from Yahoo! Member Services, and open it.
    4. Copy the “confirmation code” in the last line of the email by either double-clicking it or clicking and dragging over it, then either clicking Copy from the Edit menu or pressing Ctrl + “c”. (Mac users press Command + “c”.)
    5. Get back on the “Verify Account” page and Paste that confirmation code in the box beside “Confirmation Code:” …You can paste by clicking Paste in the Edit menu, or by pressing Ctrl + “v”. (Mac users press Command + “v”.)
    6. At the bottom of the page, click Verify Account.
    7. A sign-in page opens with your ID already filled in. Sign in with your password.
    8. You’re done. See the new account in the list on your Mail Accounts page? Now you can easily send from it by opening a Compose page, clicking the down-arrow on the end of the “From:” box, and clicking the new account in the pull-down list of email addresses. People receiving the message will see it as being sent from that address.
  9. OK, so you also want to be able to check email in this other account from your Yahoo! Mail account? No problem. On the page you’re looking at, enter that account’s mail server name (currently, only POP mail servers are supported). It will be something like pop.goestheweasel.com. To find out what it is, either search that application’s Help pages for “POP” or “server” (or both), or contact that email provider directly.
  10. Next, type your user name for that account and the password. This is completely confidential! Nobody has access to this information, but Yahoo! Mail needs it to check the account. Note: Your user name is the text in your email address before the "@" symbol.
  11. We thought a good way to identify mail from different accounts would be to give it a different color in your Yahoo! Inbox. So that’s what this last part is about: pick an indicator color to mark messages received from this account.
  12. Click Setup Mail Server. You should now be looking at the “Verify Account” page. Go back to Step 7 to hopskotch your way through account verification. Once that’s done, you can do it all from Yahoo! Mail – check mail in that account and send mail from that account.
Note: Yahoo! Mail only retrieves messages from your external (POP) mail accounts when you request it. Do this by clicking the other account’s server name in the upper-left corner of the page under “Check Other Mail”.

Hi Jenbug2274,
you can load your contacts while sending a mail by just clicking on the address book tab and then choosing the addresses you want to send to, and then clicking done. Now all those addresses will appear on the "to" address bar.
