The F20 code is no water or insufficient water. Try the hot and cold settings and diffrent temperatures and see if it works. The problem maybe in the water-inlet valve

F20 error code

Hi.

F20 means that there is a water inlet problem:

Reasons for error F20:
(Water Inlet Problem-no water or insufficient
water supply) Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle
Unplug washer or disconnect power.

Check the following:
Are water faucets completely turned on?
Are screens at inlet hose connection to washer
clogged? Are water inlet hoses kinked? Are water inlet hoses frozen?

If that does not help inlet valve, pressure switch and control module must be tested. The defective part must be replaced.

Here the tech sheet.

Regards.

Flashing f20 sometimes or want drain all.the water outs and sometimes stops washing and says add garment.

F20 error code on the display indicates a Water Inlet Problem-no water or insufficient water supply.

Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
"F20" is a No Water Detect error. It is an indication that you either have no water coming into the washer, or very little water at all. If the pressure switch has not tripped after 6 minutes, the error code is displayed. This can be a potential problem with the following:

If you have NO water in the wash tub, check the following:
- Inlet water valve may be clogged. Clean inlet screens if necessary.
- Make sure water taps are on.
- Check inlet hoses for kinks or clogs.

If you HAVE water filling the wash tub, check the following:
- Make sure you don't have a siphoning problem. Click the following link for instructions:
prevent_washer_siphoning

- Verify Drain Pump operation.
- Verify the Pressure Switch hoses are intact and connected properly.

- Verify wire harness connections at the pressure switch, inlet valves, drain pump and Central Control Unit (CCU).

To access the Drain Pump - UNPLUG the washer and take the lower panel under the door off by removing the three screws under the bottom edge. HINT: Propping the front feet of the washer up can make access much easier. I use a couple small blocks of wood. With the screws removed, the panel should drop down then come off. If it sticks, tap either side and it should come free. The pump is located directly under the wash tub in the front of the washer. Verify the electrical connections are good and that the pump is running. Click on the following link to check the pump for obstructions:
checking_drain_pump_in_whirlpool_duet

To access the Pressure Switch ? remove the three screws in the top panel along the back of the washer. With the screws removed, the panel should slide back, then, lift off. The pressure switch is located on the right-hand side of the washer in the rear. It is a round plastic device with electrical connections and a plastic air hose attached. Verify the electrical connections are intact, and the air hose is attached and not cracked or leaking.

To access the Central Control Unit (CCU) ? with the top panel of the washer removed, the CCU is located directly behind, and just above the rear of the wash tub. There should be a tech sheet directly behind the lower panel or attached to one of the interior cabinet walls. Please refer to this sheet to learn how to perform diagnostics and to verify the wire connections at the CCU. In addition, the tech sheet will also assist in how to locate the components mentioned, and the specific measurements required determining if the components are good or bad.

Good luck.

My whirlpool washer keeps flashing F20

Hi
Error F20 means Water Inlet Problem-no water or insufficient water supply.
This issue can appear due to faulty inlet valves or due to blocked inlet hoses. Also check the filter screen at inlet valve, clean them if they are dirty.
Select PAUSE/CANCEL twice to cancel the cycle. Unplug the washer or disconnect the power. Now check whether water faucets completely turned on?
Make sure that the water inlet hoses are not frozen. If above things seems to be fine then you would need to replace the water inlet/fill valve.
Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

After the washer machine fills with water it does not drain or spin, the clocking mechinism /switch does not match the cycle.

Look for signs of a broken lidswitch.
Flip up the controls unplug the lidswitch and check it for continuity or jump it out to see if the washer will start working. As far as the dial indicator being broken To replace that you yank out the retaining rod in the rear to release the knob then you can replace the skirt easily2cc26e6.jpg

Right befor it goes to rinse mode cycle if flashes F20. This is a new machine. I never used it. This was the first test I did.

F20 = NO WATER DETECTED ENTERING MACHINE OR PRESSURE SWITCH TRIP NOT DETECTED.

The pressure switch is not tripped after 6 minutes.

If there is no water in the unit:
#1 cause = Make sure that both valves at the water source(s) are turned on all the way.
else
Check for plugged or kinked inlet hoses or plugged screens in the inlet
valves.
Verify inlet valve operation.
If there is water in the unit:
Verify drain pump operation.
Verify that the pressure switch hose is in good condition and properly
connected to tub and pressure switch.
1. Verify there is not a siphon problem.
2. Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display. The machine will drain
for 3 minutes before unlocking the door.
3. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
4. Verify wire harness connections to inlet valves, pressure switch,
drain pump and Central Control Unit (CCU).
5. Check all hoses for possible leaks.
6. Plug in washer or reconnect power
7. Verify pressure switch operation.

F20

This code indicates that the washer isn't properly detecting water fill. There are a couple of areas that I would look at. The first is a faulty flowmeter. That is the round white component with two wires attached, located in the middle of the hose between the water inlet valve and the dispenser. It can be tested for continuity using a multimeter or ohmmeter. Check for continuity. A lack of continuity means a bad component.
The second thing to look at is the water level switch. This is a diaphragm like device with a small plastic tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level increases, so does the pressure on the air in the plastic tube and when it reaches a certain level, it activates the switch to turn off the water and signals the timer to advance to the appropriate cycle. Make sure the small plastic tube is not damaged or leaking in any way. The switch can be tested with the meter in the same manner as the flowmeter. Sorry for your trouble and I sure hope this helped. Best wishes.
