this blue dump screen may be due to many reasons.
the first that we can try is that try the windos installaiton using some another installaiton cd with some upper version. eg if you are trying to install windows XP SP2 then try to install XP SP3 . I am sure it will resolve your problem. Max time this problem is due to the hardware incompatibilty with Operating system. So i recommend you to try some another installaiton cd with upper or diff. version. \
If the problem still continue then its some hardware issue.
You need to download the drivers from the Compaq/HP WEB support/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the XP Windows version of the drivers you require and install them. Use this link to download the drivers http://h18000.www1.hp.com/cpq-country/cpq_support.html
Also you need to install SP3 this is the latest XP service pack
in Xp SP3 that problum is so common that u have to install all or some drivers, now if u like the visual or other some thing of SP3, and u dont wanna install XP SP2 then u have to go to search over the Google to find the drivers for SP3, but i dont conferm that u will find them...
install SP2,,, its better O.S.... I think..
Its true. the Bios or HDD driver wont allow you to install Win XP on it.. This BIOS is compatible with only Win Vista. The only easy way to do it is by creating 2 partitions while installing vista. once vista is installed- install XP with Dual boot and than format the vista partition.
