Question about Toshiba Estudio 200L Copier
First off, we are supplied Katun toner and not OEM Toshiba toner for this printer - Head Office (also the sole agent for Toshiba toner) said that they are not going to get any Toshiba toner anymore, only Katun.
This problem started about 4 months ago: Before this fault i printed the whole file at one go, no problems, the printer have done now 1.6million prints.When I print a PCL file(LPR to ip address), 60mb size, the printer prints about 20mb (5000 pages), then stops with the CD20 error.
I reboot the printer, re-spool the file and on goes the job - very annoying
and wasting of customer paper and it happens again and again ect.
The technician did a cleaning of the auger unit in the machine and pronounce that everything is good to go.
When i print a word job and the print file only reach 1600mb (1.6gb, huge graphics on the page) 8000 pages, all the pages print, no errors.
Yes, the technician did a firmware update to the latest edition.
That code means the used toner motor is not running. That is pretty easy to emove and check. You have to take off the right 1/4 cover, normally held in with 2 screws, then remove the toner assembly, on screw on a bracket on top of the assembly and a spring loaded pin on bottom. Unplug the plug and set aside. You then remove 2 screws holding in the used toner assembly and unplug one more plug.
The moror on the top normally is the one that binds, you can try cleaning it and lubricating it lightly.
The recycled toner motor may be going bad. Possibly the auger is bound, and causing it not to run.
I have no clue about the toner you are using, But it is always best to use the toner designed for any printer. But that sounds like it is out of your control. Most of the times its like adding water to the gas tank of your can and then wondering why it doesnt run.
