The developer unit is looking for toner from the hopper. E020 can also be the DC Controller or the developer unit itself. The toner cartridge is probably fine. This can be complicated to fix. The copier is probably still under warranty. It's better to call up Canon 1-800-828-4040 and have them send out a Certified Technician to fix this. Sorry I couldn't help more. Ray

I installed new ink cartridges, printer detects a problem

You could try doing the clean program 3 times and then doing a nozzle check. I have had the same problem with both cartridges since I got mine refilled at Cartridge World and they told me to do this. It works sometimes but when I print again the page doesn't print well and I repeat the process.

The ink absorber is almost full.

The ink absorber is under the print engine and covers the whole bottom of the machine. It is 5 inches wide and over a foot long. Did you really clean this part? You can't reset the error code without getting into the diagnostic program which only a shop can do...

Suggestion was Descaling the Coffee Maker from KitchenAid Phoebe (I'm guessing customer support)

Cleaning scale from coffee maker DO NOT USE THAT MUCH VINEGAR! Put a tiny bit of vinegar in the carafe and fill carafe the rest of the way with water. Run that vinegar/water through machine. Using another container, fill machine with plain water and run that through. Repeat until the vinegar taste is gone. If you do not run lots of plain water through the machine after, your coffee will taste like...um...disgusting! Also, use a spell-checker before improving this posting.

To clean hard water deposits from a coffee maker use distilled white vinager. You may need to use as much as a gallon if the scale buildup is really bad. Fill clean coffee pot one half full of vinager and run through machine as if making coffee. Repeat this process several times using fresh vinager until it comes out clear. Do this once a week and your maker will work much better.

Thanks.

Loud, screeching noise when taking a message

Managed to clear it myself. After making several cell phone calls to my machine last night and unplugging it over and over, etc. I gave up. This morning I again unplugged everything, reset all the settings and called the machine several times. At first I kept getting the "noise", but eventually I was able to call and leave a normal sounding message. Can't really explain what "cured" it! In desparation I did shake the machine and give it a hard slap, but who knows what did it!
