Question about Lenovo 3000 V100 Notebook

1 Answer

Lost Data Dear Sirs, I bought a notebook at the PostShop Sihlpost in Z?rich two months ago. Because of problems in the shut down process and the load of user profiles I gave the system back to where I bought it. The notebook was then sent to the IBM repair center. When I got my notebook back I noticed that all data on the system was apparently lost. Unfortuntely I did not backup the data. My question to you: is there a chance to restore the data in some way? I'd appreciate your reply. Kind regards - Tanja Stadler, Buchholzstrasse 156, 8053 Z?rich.

This sounds like a hard drive error. You should deliver it to a professional, or test it by yourself it that is possible. If you have some kind of warranty for your computer, you should deliver it were you bought it.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1545 notebook. I just bought it less than a month ago. When I power down it will not start up. It goes to the dell logo page and freezes. Why??????

At less than 1 month old, this is a potential warranty call. Installing questionably safe software could have caused this problem too.
If you haven't had it long enough to accumulate a great amount of valuable data on the hard drive, you could simply try to do a factory restore with the restore disks that shipped with the computer or by holding down a key at start-up to launch a built in restore program. (the key options should be displayed on your screen during start-up)

My Sony VGN-NR180E will not shut down when shutting down.

Some fo the software crashes whie it's shutting down. Either load up a system restore point from before theis problem started, or reinstall some of the software until you no longer get the problem.
Careful with system restore because when you select a date for it to go back to it will uninstall any software that you installed after that date. It will NOT delete your personal data, like pictures, music, etc even if you put them on the computer after the date selected.

I bought HP Pavilion dv5 6 months ago and fan not working

Your cooling fan sounds to have went out, causing it to overheat and shut down.It also could be something in the fan stopping it from turning.Try cleaning it or blowing it out with it off.But it mostly sounds to have went out.

Overheating, battery not charging problems booting up

Sounds like you get a virus. If possible back up your data. Format your hard drive and reload your operating system. Load and run anti-virus. Load data and applications. Run anti-virus again. That will leave you will a clean hard drive.

It may be some problem due to non- responsive services or process running on your PC.
Plz check the Services.msc and MSCONFIG configuration.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks, Scott

ROB, TRY GOING INTO POWER OPTIONS AND GO THROUGH THE SETTING THERE. IT HAS DIFFERENT SETTING THAT SAY THINGS LIKE " WHEN I CLOSE THE LID ON MY LAPTOP I WANT IN TO GO TO SLEEP" ETC. YOU SHOULD FIND A SETTING THERE THAT HANDLES WHEN I HIT SHUT DOWN I WANT THE COMPUTER TO I.E. SLEEP, HIBERNATE,STANDBY. I THINK YOU SHOULD GET THE IDEA. CHECK THOSE AND SEE IF THIS HELPS SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM.
