I have had this myselfe on a dell laptop

It is the screen inverter or the screen tube

The screen uses very high voltage to light a very small but powerfull little flourescent tube
it is either the inverter that powers the tube or the tube itself

When my one failed i had a spare computer monitor at the time and managed to hook it up with no problem, backed up my files, and ordered a new inverter of ebay for about £30 unfortunatly it was not the inverter but the tube so i had to buy a new screen around £70 -£100 changing it was a bit fiddly but no big deal , hope that helps

or you could simply use a monitor if you can

The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Just before it tries to start windows, go to safe mode, press F8 and select safe mode, you may need an external keyboard. That will enable you to restore the faulty/damaged files.

My asus notebook PC will not do anything but load up to asus logo screen and the cursor! What do I do??

It's likely that the disk-drive has failed, and Windows cannot be read from the disk-drive to "boot" the computer.
Take the computer (and power-adapter, if it is a laptop) to a qualified computer-repair place.

I hope that you have been making good "backup" file-sets.

Once in the bios press the right arrow button to move to the tab labeled Security. NOTE: tabs located at the very top of the screen,

On the Security tab press the down arrow button to highlight the option to change the supervisor password and follow the prompts.

Hi, i built a new computer but am having trouble getting into bios, the asus start up screen with the asus logo comes on but i cannot get the keyboard to let me into the bios and a beep sounds to tell me...

Press Del right after starting the computer to enter BIOS. A few ASUS motherboards use Ins instead.
OR Press F2 right after the computer starts up.
And try reconnecting your keyboard!!

Stuck on asus logo on startup??

Same problem here with my wife's Asus laptop. Called Asus and they said to unplug charger, remove the battery in the back, hold down the power button for 10 seconds. Then, replace battery, then charger, then press the power button and wait for startup. First time it got stuck at the windows loading bar screen for like 5 min. which is abnormal. Did a hard power down (press and hold power button til it shuts off) then restarted again. That time it worked and all is well so far. Could have been due to a static charge as she was on our couch with our dog backing up movies so charge might have entered through the CD/DVD drive opening. (?) Not sure, but if you are sitting on a static-prone couch with your laptop its probably best to sit on top of a bounce sheet.
