Question about HP PSC 1210 All-In-One InkJet Printer
My printer works fine, but when try to scan it says usb not connected Hi All, I recently tried to scan and realized that I couldn't. I have a MacBook with OS 10.5.5 and an HP PSC 1200 All-in-One printer. I had been able to print and copy fine, even able to copy from the Hp Director, where I could manipulate copies from the computer before printing. After trying to resolve the scan issue, however, I can only print and copy on the printer itself. The Hp Director is different (looks like an older version) and also the Setup assistant doesn't recognize the printer on a USB connection - so I haven't even completed the setup since uninstalling, reinstalling software, downloading old and new drivers, etc. ! I assume that I have old and new drivers on my computer which are causing problems? Any ideas of how I can at least get the Hp director to work ? The scanning is not the most important for me, but printing and copying is. Thanks a lot for reading and I'd appreciate any help!

If you're using windows try using window's built in scanning camera wizard (this worked perfectly for my psc 1315). Go to Start -> settings -> control panel -> Scanners and Cameras

infact for vista os hp director is not available as it has been updated with hp solution center ,,, now what u can do is download any software of photosmart series (i ll suggest u to download c7280 software as it is version 10 ). install it but use the custom installation and use the custom applications to install. when the installation screen ll prompt u to connect the device at that time check the box which says connect later and finish the installation . HP solution center ll be on the desktop try to use it and enjoy

I am not sure if this helps with you issue but this is what I just found out. I wanted to scan from my printer but since I can't find my original disc that came with my printer I could not scan. I contacted HP, they told me that the new laptop that I have should have the software loaded on it. She told me that since I have a older printer that it doesn't work with Vista (or at least the buttons on the printer won't work, so I couldn't scan a picture by pressing the button). She told me that I needed to go through Microsoft Paint and scan. It worked for me. Hope this helps...
