have a look at the following web site from the link below. there are some aopen audio drivers listed for the same via chip set as yours. hopefully that fixes your problem.

the alternative is to disable the onboard audio from the bios and install a separate sound card. they are available for around $15-20.00.

AC 97 driver is an audio chip driver, for your motherboard.
you,ll probably need motherboard information ( make-model-et,c ) If you just type in AC97 loads will come up. this is asking for a specific driver, for a certain Chipset on your Motherboard.
