How do i get rid of a horizontal line

It is a bad LCD. It may just be bad timing. Buy a new display on eBay for $50 and look up a video on how to replace the LCD on your particular laptop model. When ordereing, make certain to order the correct display! Matt finish versus glossy and screen size.

Sony vaio wont start up

Hi,
I recommend your remove all external devices from your notebook. Take out the battery and press and hold down the power button for 30 to 60 seconds. This is known as a hard reset. Put the battery back in place and try to boot again. If it does not work, try re-seating the ram. If you have more than one stick of ram try alternating them between the two slots or one at a time. Hopefully this will fix your issue. If it does not then you have a more serious problem on your hands. The motherboard GPU may not be functioning properly and if this is the case the whole motherboard would have to be changed. I wish you the best.

Fix a HP DV5200 that will not boot

faulty CPU most likely. take the CPU out and get a replacement from EBAY etc. get some isoproyl alcohol and some thermal paste from there too. warning: you will need to reformat your hard drive as the BIOS settings will most certainly be different and you will probably get the BSOD (blue screen of death) by trying to cold reboot from the same hard drive. back everything up first. take the hard drive out and get a caddy and backup to another machine.

After an unexpected computer crash my Dell Studio XPS 1340 has been stuck at start-up. Currently when I start up the computer it gets stuck on the loading bar in the Dell Splash Screen or the BIOS Screen...

Hey,

Have you tried the "Power Flee". Sometimes this small step works where we don't expect it to be..

>Press and hold the "power button" for 5-10 seconds.

>Remove all cables, peripheral devices(If connected)

>Take out the laptop battery and wait for couple of minutes.

>Insert the battery again and try to boot.

If it passes through the dell logo screen now and still stuck somewhere(BLACK / BLANK screen), then we can try "advanced boot options", Windows vista / 7 WINRE options(startup repair, system restore, various commands from "command prompt", and complete factory restore).

If its still stuck on that same dell loading screen, consult your manufacturer for hardware diagnostics.

My Acer Aspire One has a blank blue screen when it powers up. What do I do?

Switch ON the PC, boot the PC in 'Safe Mode' by continuously tapping F8 button after you switch On.

Let windows boot in Safe Mode and log in to windows.

Go to 'Start'--->Programs--->Accessories--->System Tools--->System Restore

Here you will have to check "Restore computer to an earlier time' and click Next
Now you will find one Month Calendar window with Dates below, go to the previous month by clicking the '<' sign in the upper left hand corner of the Month Calendar and select any date that you see in Bold.

The detail of that particular date should show "System Checkpoint" and time on the right hand side box. Select that date.

Now, Click on Next and System Restore will start and windows will take a reboot.

Just do the following steps now

1) Delete all unwanted data from Drive C.

2) Delete all data that you have copied from Drive C to External HDD

3) Open My computer and go to Tools---> Folder Options---->Click on View Tab----> Check 'Show hidden files and folders' and select OK.

4) Go to C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp and Delete everything that you see inside Temp Folder

5) Go to C:\WINDOWS\ here you will find folders like $hf_mig$, here you will have to Delete all the folders starting and ending with $ sign.

6) Empty Recycle bin and restart the PC and your issue will be resolved.

If you feel that my answers has helped you in any way then please give a vote.

Thanks.

The computer turns on but it starts to start windows nomal and when you see the windows screen starts again as if time was on for prier

If your system boots up and then restarts again then this may be due to the fact that your windows boot sequence files are corrupted or infected with a virus. What you need to do is boot into safe mode (press F5 while your PC boots up). If the system boots into safe mode fine you will then need to run a full up to date virus scan of your system. If you are unable to boot into Windows then you may need to format and re-install Windows.
