Question about Canon CanoScan FB630P Flatbed Scanner

My scanner won't work Has been working fine up until today and now i am getting a message 0xc0000142 Have no idea what that means. Have uninstalled the program an reinstalled but no luck I really need help with this' Robyn

    Thanks for that, I already use Trend and it runs a check every day and not virus is present anywhere.

Off the top of my head, I'd say this is typical virus behavior.....or, less likely, you're having a bizarre memory problem like a byte went bad in a memory DIMM. A more serious hardware problem is less wouldn't cause uniform program problems....if your sound card went bad, Word would start but Media Player would probably fail to start. Since you can get on the internet, go to Trend Micro and download their Administrator Command Line anti-virus. It's free, they don't advertise it, and it rocks. First download this file to a new folder on your desktop.

Open the folder and double-click "" There's no installation....a window will open....just press the "Scan Now" button....or "Go" or whatever it is....I can't remember. If you have a slow computer with a lot of files it could take a hour or two to scan. Just let it go until it's done. It will repair every infected file it can, or it will delete the file..

Error message 000450F2 and 0xc0000142

i cant give any help without an error message problem

if you want to know what this is the error code is related to

click start control panel administrative tools computer management then select event viewer this may vary depending on what operating system you have

extend the events there you will see errors in red you will no what exactly what the error was and at what time it occured

or click start type in event viewer press ENTER

you might be able work your way through the problem

Scan snap won't work

This is a known problem with Fujitsu ScanSnaps. Some units experience the "blue button of death" meaning they no longer respond to waking the driver up when you press the blue button. Customer service is aware of the problem and if you are under warranty you should be able to get a new unit.

the drivers for the scanner might have been corrupted
you might have to uninstall the printer/scanner restart your computer then reinstall the printer/scanner and its drivers
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to ports(COM&LPT) + to expand you should see a communication port and Ecp printer port you might see a yellow?question mark this will mean you need to install a new driver for this device right click you will have options to update driver,disable,uninstall or select properties again you will have the similiar options plus you can troubleshoot

Did you repaired old drivers? if so first uninstall your products drivers and also its folders from program files, then uninstall "wrong update" and reinstall scanner. sometimes built in scanning modules comes wrong but everything works with original scanning software, use different software to scan and some of them may work perfectlly.

When I try to open my scanner (Canon FB 630P), I get a message ''initialization problem 0xc0000142''. It worked fine before. Some technician [from CA] worked on my computer remotely to resolve conflicts...

Try reinstalling the Canon drivers - you can download them from Canon by following this link. You'll need to select which operating system you use to download the proper one.

If that doesn't work, try using a different USB port - that has also been known to work

no solution. just figured that I could buy a brand new scanner for $50 bucks. Seems most items purchased today are not fixable, and we continue to live in a throw away society.

I plan to ask my apple people to see if they can help the next time I go to see them.
