MY SYSTEM IS 1998 MODEL WITH INTEL PENTIUM III. SUDDENLY MY SYSTEM LOST SOUND WHILE I WAS PLAYING A MOVIE . MOVIE IS RUNNING BUT SOUND HAS NOT COME. THEN I ASKED MY FRIEND, HE TOLD ME THAT SOUND CARD...

Hi

This is and old soundcard . I believe it is designed to support DOS, Windows 95/98/NT/ME/2000 only.

You do not say which operating syustem you are using. XP, maybe?

Before you try to install drivers try:

Start > control Panel > Sounds and audio devices > Audio > click on the drop menu next to playback device to see list of audio devices > selesct the Dynex DX-SC5.1 as the Default Device > Apply > Ok.

In Vista:

Start > Control panel > hardware & Sounds > manage audio Devices > click to highlight the sound driver for this sound card > Set Default > Apply > OK.

If tyhis does not work, then uninstall the drivers > restart the computer > download and reinstall the drivers.

Try here:

I hope this helps

I just install a quad core processor, and the sound card doesn't make nay sound

Is it just a replacement of a defective one? If it is, then, you still have the same operating system in it. Put your PC on, and left click, Setting, Control Panel, Systems, Hardware, and finally the Device Manager. You will now see the installed devices/hardware in
your PC. Right click over the sound, audio devices,
and view the status and property of this item. You
will be prompted on what to do next. If you don't get
results, your option is to reinstall the software driver.
If you have the CD for sound/audio software driver,
insert the disc and install the driver. If this is not
available, you can connect to the internet Just type at the search engine blank (Free download for sound/audio software driver) and click over it. Then, follow the instruction for you to get the free download.
the sound/audio software driver download

No sound

Is the sound card activated in bios setup?
power on the pc, press the key to enter the setup utility (usually delete, F2, F10)
Find the onboard device section and make sure the onboard sound is set to on.
Save and exit.

Let windows boot normally.
Go to control panel > system > device manager > sound and video... > right click on the sound device and choose uninstall.
 - Reboot...
Windows will find a new device...click next and find automatically...

Good luck

Hi.
I suppose you mean sound card and vga( video graphics adapter) DRIVERS for free.
If that is right, you will have to find out the model and manufacturer of your devices, once you know that, you can:
- Post that info in this site and ask for help.
- Make a search by yourself using any search engine( goggle etc)
- Visit the devices manufacturer's website and look for updated drivers for your device model.

I hope this help you.
Regards.
